I was winning 2-0 at the half today...my opponent was in the 3-5-2, and I was in a 4-4-2.

He scored 4 in the second half and beat me 4-2.

Probably. I just have a hard time reconciling that my defense could be beaten that badly.

Even a stong defense will get beat if the midfield can't keep the ball off of them. And from the looks of your midfield, it could use a little work, with the poor and weak, but then again I assume those are your wingers.

Do any of your defenders have any playmaking abolity? You could push a central def. offensive and support your midfield. Or drop a forward back, in a tight defensive struggle.

That weak defender could be replaced for less than 10k.

Good match, rex. I really thought I'd lose that one at halftime. I never really had a good comeback game until this. And looking at those ratings, I don't know how I could have won.

1 day HT will get offense, midfield, and defense balanced. But until that day.... the best defense is a "divine" midfield :(

take a look at this team sometime....... Mean Losers FC (8067)

he has one of the best defenses in the world, if not the best. But he still loses games 2-1 sometimes on "event goals" alone.

you just tied a game you should have gotten killed in, but since you kept the possession close you managed a tie. With that weak/weak/inadequate defense, you should have gotten blow away.

The weak dude isnt actually a starter...i played half b-team and half a-team...and thats just their stamina ratings...

You can get an inad defender for 1-2K though.

While I agree that midfield importance needs to be toned down a bit (maybe a lot), I don't think they should be even. The way teams stopped Arsenal (back when their shoddy defense was, ahem, passable) and their supposedly good offense was to clog up the middle of the field and play the possession game. If you can't get the ball, then you can't score. And your defense will eventually tire out from chasing me.

That said, I agree with you and The Afoci that defense doesn't get enough love in the Hattrick.
