I purchased for 1k. I'm training him at defense, but he could become an offensive defender at some point.

I bought for 2k.
They are out there and if you are training them in PM then I wouldn't worry too much about stamina unless you can win your division. The season is almost over, so I would just grab as many inadequates as I could find for training, regardless of stamina.
Sweden and Norway proved to be quite good, so did Portugal for some cheaper players.
Patience grasshopper.

his passable scoring is boosting his price/value. I wouldn't buy him...
As Qwik said, you should try to get them at below 4k (meaning dirt cheap) and train them to passable to be sold back at the beginning of next season...

dola, by boosting his value/price, I meant he will cost too much for what he can use in terms of skill. Scoring is useless for an inner mid, or even for a winger...

He's more expensive because of the passable scoring, I'd train that guy at forward.
For 5k, yeah, go ahead, but the inadequate scoring on that guy screws up estimating just how soon he's to pop...I managed to buy an inadequate inner mid with poor skills at passing/defense, knocked him up to passable, and sold him for 30-35k a few weeks later.

What about the other dude at 5k?

also Billy, we are entering that time of the week where fresh flesh isn't there anymore. What I mean is that the youth pulls happen over the weekend and are usually on the market until Wednesday. The players that will hit the market right now are mostly trainees of other teams that just popped. If you're not careful, you could easily end up with a guy that just popped from weak to inadequate in playmaking and that is not good at all...
Better to wait until Sunday morning to see what's new on the market...

If you're talking about teh very first guy, I'd say pass, unless you are very tired of searching and want a guy absolutely now... :)
There are plenty more out there.

Another thing to consider is that all the youth pulls that got grabbed up by day traders are on the market now, and you won't get any bargains from them.

This guy has no transfer history...so is he "fresh" he was prmoted on 6/3/2003
I have 8 mins. to decide... does that information change anything?

I dont no guys... im seeing inad playmakers with no secondaries going for this price... this guy has good stamina and scoring will boost his value when he "pops"... I may be wrong, and I probably am... but wouldn't 5k be a fairly decent buy?
I currently have 2 trainees so far... and would like to add more... I'm not really in a "rush" but... it would help.
BTW... 3 mins.

No tranfer history means nothing. Look at his memorable moments page. It will tell you when he was pulled...

i looked there... and he was pulled 6/3... I think I'm going to bid... I have a "gut" feeling, and 5k is not really a major investment... That is the highest I will go too.

look, as I told you before, you won't kill your team with buys of 4, 6, 8k, or even 20k. Go ahead buy him, live and learn... It's always better to learn from our mistakes, although buying that guy wouldn't be a very big mistake, if one at all...

Way to go, you took a stance! now if it gets into a bidding frenzy (I doubt it) don't panic and keep on bidding when the player is up to 30k (if it ever comes to that) Don't laugh, it happened to the best of us...

Yes sir. I placed a bid on him.... If I can get him to pop to passable by the beginning of next year... his Stamina and scoring will add some value... right?
Well, I won him for 5001k. :)
I will definately be more persistent in my next couple of trainee buys... looking for those "steals"... I feel since I hjave 3 trainees now... i can afford to do so.
Thanks for your help!

yes for the stamina, although his scoring will add some "fake" value. Yes, his value in the books will be better than a similar player with a wretched scoring, although anybody who knows a little bit what he is doing will know that scoring doesn't help a middie and it won't drive his "market" value all that much. I mean that people might not really want to pay more for him when you sell him as a passable playmaker, only because he is an inadequate scorer...

Rememer also that there are just 4 weeks left till the end of the season, plus two weeks downtime, before the ages of players are knocked up 1 year. So unless your guy pops before the end of the season, it will take longer.
Also, during the downtime no friendlies can be scheduled, this is when most teams train stamina and set pieces.
