Hello all.
With FIU becoming a DI football school, it was time to get the right man into the fold as head coach. After scouring bars, slums and soup kitchens, they found there man in me, Tommy Lawson, a hard-drinking Irishmen with a firey temper and a Bear Bryant approach to football.
Three and a cloud of dust? You bet your ass. This isn't football for the weak at heart. But before we contend for any form of recgoinition on the annals of college football history, we need to establish ourselves as the kings of Florida.
And so it shall begin.
The time is now for Miami, Florida and Florida State to give way to FIU.
And give way they shall.

OVERVIEW
The goal is simple: Be the top school in Florida. To achieve this we will be playing Miami, FSU and UF every year (if possible) with the hopes of sweeping them and obtaining a higher season ending ranking then them.
I'll only recruit in Florida unless it's for a 5 star recruit, then I can branch out of state. If we can't get enough guys from FLA, we'll recruit from bordering states.
Now, to add interest, I would love to have FOFC'ers sign up as recruits for the season.
If you want in, respond back with your players name, city, state, heigh, weight and position. With regards to position, if you want to be a scrambling QB, let me know, and so on.
Now not every recruit will be the same rating. It'll be all random. No one will have less then a 75 OV, but occasionally (which I will base some way randomly) someone could be a super recruit.
So do sign up.
As this goes on, I'll be simming Madden with the Lions which I will also be documenting.
So come one, come all.

WEEK TWO
FIU @ Kansas State
In a tightly contested game played in Manhattan, FIU almost eeked out an amazing upset, but instead fell 28-23. The ground attack was fairly productive as starting back Reams ran 24 times for 103 yards and two scores.
Sadly those bastards could throw, torching our secondary for 350 yards.
In recruiting news, we focus on a 5 star RB from Missouri for the hell of it. We round out our potential recruits with mostly 3, but some 4 star players from Florida.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 12:11 PM
Also .. When I do write this, I am gonna do Stream of Concious for the reason it'll flow better and capture the thoughts of a college coach. We know they're handcuffed in what they say, but not what they think.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 12:16 PM
WEEK THREE
FIU @ #17 Texas Tech
What a gong show! Reams runs 21 times for 60 yards. I tell him played alright, all things considered, but let' s be honst .. I've seen kids throwing games play better. That Tech team, the asses. Their QB Hodges threw for 450 yards. What is up with our secondary? I swear it looks like our fastest DB clocked in with a 4.9 40 time. Drinking sounds pretty damn good right now .. Then again, it also did during the fourth quarter. Hope no one sees my flask on the sidelines.
In recruiting news, we up the ante on RB Jason Jackson (5 *, Kirksville MO). We need a back, and we can offer him lots of touches asap. We also pressure DB Scott Tyler (4 *, Goldenrod FL). With whats going on in our secondary, we need players.. FAST
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 12:21 PM
WEEK FOUR
Well, we don't lose! .. Mainly because we have a bye week. I decide to keep pressuring Tyler and Jackson. We're making this a two man class during the season. We gotta' get speed in here on both sides of the ball. We decide to nix the one MLB and WR we're going after and allot their points to our potential studs.
In other news .. Urban Meyer called me today to say it was inappropriate to say his kid has a lazy eye. The pussy.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 12:23 PM
WEEK FIVE
FIU @ Arkansas State
Do we even have a home stadium? Reams runs 12 times for 70 yards and a score. Sadly we were so far down we just ran most of our time off the clock. ASU wins 34-16 in an absolute ugly game.
To make matters worse, Larry Coker called. Apparently he can't handle being called Larry Cokehead. WELL SNIFF SNIFF LARRY!
In recruiting news, Tyler and Jackson continue getting peer pressured. Hey -- Get 'em while they're young, am I right?!
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 12:28 PM
WEEK SIX
Well balls! We have a home game vs Florida A&M. If we lose this one, heads will roll, this is for sure. The trash talking was insane out there. Of course, before the game Bobby Bowden told ESPN that he found it amusing I talked trash about him when I am playing for 115th in the Nation. I mutter he's an assclown and make special plans for a TD celebration next year with his name on it.
Anyway, we should play every game at home, as we thrash A&M 45-16. Reams runs 34 times for 254 yards and 2 TD's and then told Bowden to suck it! Of course we're lucky to get PBS to our games so no one saw it but me, but I gave him four stokes just for that.
In recruiting news, Jacksons noodled us down to his top 5 as he loves our shock and awe approach. We're second behind the Sooners. He doesn't need Bob Stoops .. F Bob Stoops I say.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 12:31 PM
WEEK SEVEN
FIU @ Troy
AND WE WIN ON THE ROAD! Reams is turning into a player as he rumbles 41 times for 157 yards and all three of our scores in a 21-14 win in Troy.
The good news doesn't end there, as Tyler noodles his list down to five, and who is tops? US! OVER OKLAHOMA! TAKE THAT STOOPS!

PS - Recruiting and stuff will go on, then the Madden season will be summarized, and so forth.

WEEK EIGHT
North Texas vs FIU
BREAK EM UP! North Texas, the team expected to take the Sun Belt comes into Miami and gets beat 31-21 thanks to two Reams TD runs in the fourth quarter with under 6 minutes left. Reams runs 42 times for 159 yards and 3 TD's and is slowly becoming my drinking buddy as I keep buying for him with these kind of performances.
Nothing new on the recruiting front, other then all our eggs are now in two baskets. 60 points to Jackson and 40 to Tyler. Everyone else is gone. It's go big or go home, baby.

A bye week interupting our momentum. Corso is pissed! But we get good news as Jackson has named his top three .. AND FIU IS IN THE MIX! It's down to us, OU and Nebraska. We schedule a visit next week when we take on Middle Tennessee State. Talk about a big game to shine?

WEEK TEN
Middle Tennessee State vs FIU
In maybe the biggest game in FIU's history, with our most highly touted recruit watching, we roll to a fourth straight victory in a 38-21 triumpth over MTSU. I preached to Jackson we run and run and run, and he got to see it on display as Reams runs 34 times for 128 yards and 2 TDs.
We're sitting at 4-3 (3-1 in the Sun Belt) and looking like a possible bowl team if we keep it up. Granted, we need to win the Sun Belt to be sure, but we have the ability with how we're playing.
YES! Jacksons given us a soft verbal. He liked what he saw, but we need to keep it up to show we're ont he verge of big things. In other good news, Tyler names us in his top 3 with FSU and OU. We schedule a visit for our next home game vs Western Kentucky. We seem to be sitting pretty.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 12:49 PM
WEEK ELEVEN
FIU vs UL Monroe
BAH! SON OF A BITCH! F'ING DEFENSE! We lose 38-31 with 48 seconds left. This is a game that could have very well ended any bowl chance. Reams was decent with 29 carries for 112 yards and 2 TD but it could be all for naught.
We hope this loss doesn't ruin our chance with Jackson and Tyler. We'll need to redeem ourselves.
SHIT SHIT SHIT
Jackson is going to OU. We blew a top tier talent. We're gonna have to pursue Tyler hard or this is a total bust.
I'll let the team know how pissed I am.

SEASON WRITE UP
We sucked when we needed it most. We lost two games in the thick of a recruiting war and lost both Jackson and Tyler to Oklahoma. It's a drag it had to end that way but it did, and we'll live with it.
Regardless, we do go 6-5 (4-3) so it wasn't all bust. It will get better though, this I can promise.

It's time to start looking over tape of some recruits.
The first one I see is of this RB from Michigan, Jeff Nights. Talk about a mack truck. My scouts tell me that on our grading scale, he rates an 84 as a freshman. He doesn't have much speed or the moves, but man, he cannot be brought down. At 5'11. 250, he could just level anyone. Hell, he's bigger then all my LB's.
Sadly, he lives in Michigan, so F this kid. Yet someone will be getting a stud.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 02:45 PM
Next is a little shit from New Mexico .. A Free Saftey .. I don't believe he can be good but my scouts tell me they have him has an 80. He doesn't wow you, but he does everything right. With that size, he reeks over pesky overachiever.
I hated the movie Rudy, this kid is Rudy.
Sean Treacy .. Rudy .. Whatever .. He's from New Mexico, I won't touch him.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 02:48 PM
Here's an intriguing guy. Dan Ertmann, a scrambling QB from Illinois. My scouts give him a 76 rating, based on the fact he doesn't have great passing ability, but he can move. If this kid red shirts, he can develope into a deadly weapon if his passing catches up with his arm.
I hope he stays in the Big 10 though .. I don't want my boys killing the kid. WHICH WE DO!
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 02:51 PM
Tim Mougney .. a WR from Wisconsin .. 5'11, 180 lbs.. Eh, who cares? Passing is for pussies, and we all know it. Chicks with dix like the long ball I say. I will say this though .. The kid can FLY. My scouts say overall he's a 76 but his speed is a 99 and if his hands catch up with his speed, he could be the deadliest weapon in the Nation.
Still, he's a WR, so obviously he isn't very straight.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 02:55 PM
Owen Hunter .. DE from Claremont, NH. The kid has some giddy up. He will reach the QB and he'll hit them like a ton of bricks. He's rated an 84 by my scout and is considered perhaps the premier DE in this years class. I can't say I'll argue with that synopsis. Too bad he's not from Florida, I'd be all over him. Strippers, kegs, money .. it'd all be his.
Way to be from the wrong state, jerkey.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 02:58 PM
Chad Rizzo .. 6'4", 220 lbs WR from Clearwater, FL. This guy can jump. My scouts love him. They give him an 80 but said if he develops speed, he's in the elk of Moss or TO. I remind this scout that Moss and TO are in love with each other and that unless this guy can run through a line, he's useless to me.
Still, I am sure some team will find use in him. He'll probably stay in state. His loss too. I'll make his life a living hell for four years no matter which Florida team he chooses if he goes that route.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 03:01 PM
Kevin Thomas .. 6'3, 230 lbs MLB from .. London, Ontario? WHAT! A CANADIAN?! IS HE A DEFENSEMEN?! Wow. I learn not only is he a MLB, but he's the best player in this class. My scout has him as an 87! I demand to know why and apparently its quite simple .. He isn't fast, but he is always in the right place, and he does not miss tackles.
Works for me .. Stupid Canuck though.
I'm sure the Big 10 will be calling, because I know I won't.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 03:04 PM
Seth Rodgers .. Champaigne, IL .. A .. Kicker? Ugh. A waste of space. Yet, he does get a 78 from my scout. He is still looking for power, but he is an accuerate kicker who could see time as a true freshman somewhere.
Illinois though .. Probably a Jon Garland fan .. I bet he's as overrated as JG too!
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 03:08 PM
Emilaino Bonetta .. RB from Boston, MA .. Has a real interst in FIU .. BUT HES FROM BOSTON! My scout informs me he's a solid runner, given a 76 rating, but can do lots of things. Still .. BOSTON?!
However, my scouts inform me he is actually from Coral Gables, but moved to Boston to be with his sickly grandmother. I keep this under advisement .. Hell, I'll recruit the kid, he's from here, and we need him. I wonder if he'll turn his back on us though because if he does .. DONE FOR!
Coffee Warlord
08-15-2005, 03:09 PM
Somehow, Nielsen will either wind up playing for FIU, or one of the other Florida teams. Oh yes.
Or Michigan. :)
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 03:13 PM
David Yellope .. DT .. 6'3, 315 lbs from .. Ugh.. BOSTON! This kid can play though. My scouts have him as an 82 out of the box, but his real attribute is his strength. He's a man child. Unlike Bonetta he has no excuse for Boston .. and believe me I looked. So he can go fade into obscurity at some lame school like Va Tech or something.
Good riddance.
DeToxRox
08-15-2005, 03:17 PM
Mike Tokunaga .. MLB from .. EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA! DRAT! infiltrating our pipelines, I swear. Mike T is the second best MLB in the Great White North, though the total opposite of Kevin Thomas. Mikey T is more of a speed MLB who can tackle, but is generally going to use his speed to get into position as opposed to instincts. My scouts have him as a 76, but with his blazing speed in the middle, I expect a star to be born.
Born in the Big 10 that is. ZINGAH!

Rob Nielsen .. 6'4', 220 lbs QB from Chicago .. Bah .. All these Illinois kids. So stupid! Nielsen though I like. He's cocky and brash. He and Ertmann were bitter rivals in Illinois, each doing it their own way. While Ertmann ran an option attack, Ertmann was flinging the ball, as stupid as it is, but he did it effectivley. They met in four consecutive state titles, and split the series 2-2. We'll see how it goes at the next level.
My scouts though give Nielsen the edge right now, as an 80 overall. We'll see how it goes.
Coffee Warlord
08-15-2005, 03:22 PM
Rob Nielsen does not approve of you calling his style 'stupid'. Rob Nielsen will kick your ass if you do anything other than give him beer and hookers.
Rob Nielsen thanks you for your time, though Rob Nielsen thinks you should be thanking him for the priviledge of scouting him.

Dat King .. Well hell .. a 6'4, 245 monster MLB from Oscala, FL. FINALLY! SOMEONE I CAN USE! My scouts say I have no chance .. he's an 80 and everyone wants him .. I SAY BALDERDASH! We're going for him. He has a mean streak, and he likes whiskey. We're gonna party with this kid. He's like my lost child.
I MUST HAVE HIM!

I look over my notes .. How'd this pass me by? Rashaun Grant, a RB from Georgia Tech wants into FIU .. Well, balls yeah! Georgia borders our Maiden land and hell, we need all the backs we can get. Reams has three years left, but we wanna REAM teams, and another capable back won't hurt.
Grant will sit this year out but his senior year he'll be putting the FU in FIU.

MINNESOTA MLB DEPTH CHART
1. #45 Kevin Thomas (FR) 87 OV
After Thomas, it's a sharp drop as a backup LOLB is slated at MLB with a 72 OV. Thomas will be getting the nod early on and is the favorite for early Defensive Freshman All American Honors.

NC STATE DE DEPTH CHART
LE - #6 Mario Williams (SR) (99 OV)
RE - #94 Owen Hunter (FR) (85 OV)
DE - #93 Josh White (FR) (84 OV)
Wow. What depth at NC State. Williams is the Nations top DE and will take a lot of double teams leaving Hunter there to pick up his leftovers. And when he leaves? Two of the top freshman DE's in the Nation in Hunter/White to keep what could be a lethal DE combo for the next 3-4 years.

PENN STATE RB DEPTH CHART
1. Austin Scott (SR) (88 OV)
2. Jeff Nights (FR) (84 OV)
3. HB #8 (JR RS) (80 OV)

1. #92 David Yellope (FR) (84 OV)
2. #98 Steve Roberts (FR) (74 OV)
Two true freshman anchor DT's middle. Both are at 300 + lbs and are going to be forces for a long time to come in the ACC. Roberts may not have it all right now but will benefit greatly from Yellopes presence in the middle.

TEXAS A&M FS DEPTH CHART
1. FS #21 (RS SR) (84 OV)
2. #22 Sean Treacy (FS) (82 OV)
#21 is a solid FS *My buddy who did these rosters didn't do every guy obviously, so my apologies) but Treacy is not far behind him and should see substantial time for the Aggies.

08-20-2005, 03:43 PM
MARYLAND MLB DEPTH CHART
1. #49 Dat King (FR) (82 OV)
King is the only true MLB on the depth chart, as his back ups are the starting ROLB and LOLB. King, barring injury, has no reason not to be playing every snap this year and is prone to make a huge impact for the Terps.

IOWA QB DEPTH CHART
1. #5 Drew Tate (SR) (97 OV) (Impact Player)
2. #16 Jason Manson (RS SR) (88 OV)
3. #10 Jake Christensen (RS FR) (80 OV)
4. #18 Rob Nielsen (Red Shirt) (80 OV)
Nielsen gets a year on the pine as he is behind a 2nd team pre-season All American in Drew Tate, and one of the premier back up QBs in the Nation in Manson. Come next year, Nielsen should take the starters spot with a solid spring over Christensen.

AUBURN WR DEPTH CHART
1. #86 Courtney Taylor (RS SR) (94 OV)
2. WR #89 (RS JR) (80 OV)
3. #85 Chad Rizzo (FR) (80 OV)
4. #82 James Swinton (RS SO) (74 OV)
Taylor is a hoss. He's a pre-season first team All American and is geared up for another big years. #89 can fly himself, but is no Taylor. Rizzo is in a great spot in the slot since he's a big body who can catch. Rizzo will develope into a good WR but for now he's perhaps the best role WR in the Nation.

OHIO STATE K DEPTH CHART

PURDUE QB DEPTH CHART
1. #12 Curtis Painter (RS SO) (84 OV)
2. QB #1 (RS FR) (76 OV)
3. #11 Dan Ertmann (FR) (76 OV)
Painters a solid QB. QB #1 is only #2 right now because of experience but come next year the feeling is Ertmann will be the #2 QB. With some strong spring showings, Ertmann could be the man in Purdue as soon as Sophmore year, and as late as Senior year. The feeling is though he'll win the job before Junior year.

2. HB #38 (RS FR) (78 OV)
3. HB #44 (RS FR) 78 OV)
4. #24 Emiliano Bonetta (FR) (78 OV)
Bonetta is close with the other RBs (I autonammed unnamed guys as it annoyed me but I'll not disclose their names yet for sake of laziness) and should be a two year starter unless #34 leaves early, then he could be a three year starter. Bonetta should be the #2 man next year and go from there.

2. #10 Chris Marrow (RS SR) (76 OV)
3. #89 Michael Bell (FR) (76 OV)
4. #83 Tim Mougney (FR) (76 OV)
Mougney and Bell will be the guys to watch out for as both can speed (Bell - 90 SP, Mougney - 99 SP) but both will have to wait until next year to really be featured barring injury to Bentley or Marrow. Thankfully, UTEP likes to throw so the possibility is there for Mougney to make headway this year some.

TENNESSEE MLB DEPTH CHART
1. #46 Issac James (FR) (80 OV)

3. #47 Mike Tokunaga (FR) (76 OV)
Wow. Three true freshman, all of whom can play. James is starter for now but it could go any which way from here on out. Tokunaga will have to keep battling because if anyone in this race takes it easy, they're in trouble with the other two sure to be on their ass.

WEEK ONE
FIU @ #14 Florida State
AND THEY RIOT IN MIAMI! OH MY GOD! THE FIU GOLDEN PANTHERS GO INTO DOAK CAMPBELL AND PULL OF A 25-22 UPSET VICOTRY! With 59 seconds left, our QB Padrick scrambled in from 5 yards out to give FIU their biggest win ever. No one on FIU came close to 100 yards, but Reams and Bell did have 130 comined with 2 scores which proved to be enough in the shocking upset over the 14th ranked Noles.
#22 Alabama @ #8 Texas A&M
Bama goes into A&M and wins 28-21. Treacy has 1 tackle in his first ever collegiate game, but the result is sure to leave a bad taste in his mouth.
DeToxRox
08-20-2005, 04:20 PM
WEEK TWO
FIU (1-0) @ #6 Miami (0-0)
Miami.. Well, they're Miami and we're still FIU. We go into Miami Stadium and are skullfucked 45-14 in a game that was never close. Reams did run 13 times for 68 yards but it was all for naught as we get shat on. A total shatting really. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
Ole Miss (0-0) @ #23 Ohio State (0-0)
OSU wins 46-24. Rodgers with an impressive debut going 2 for 2 in FGs with a long of 55, and 4 for 4 in EPs. A solid start to his career.
The Citadel (0-0) @ #16 Texas A&M (0-1)
A&M thumps the Citadel 66-17. Treacy improves on last week with two solo tackles in a game that was over 5 minutes in when A&M went up 14-0.
Akron (0-0) @ Penn State (0-0)
With Penn State up big early, Jeff Nights got in and shined. In his collegiate debut he ran 27 times for 123 yards and 2 scores over the Zips. He was also PSU's leading reciever with 5 grabs for 95 yards. The Nitney Lions rolled 41-16.
Arizon (0-0) @ #25 UTEP (0-0)
The Wildcats, scoring in the last 4 minutes, pull off the upset of the Miners 34-29. Moguney had 2 catches for 13 yards for the Miners, as well as one kick return for 19 yards.
Boston College (0-0) @ UAB (0-0)
BC, who gave up a 21-0 lead early, holds on to beat UAB on the road 35-32. Yellopes performance was not so great with only two tackles, but like with all these kids, he has a long time to improve.
Houston (0-0) @ #7 NC State (0-0)
NC State takes out the upset minded Cougers 38-27. Owen Hunter had 3 tackles in his debut. An unspectacular debut, but since NC State won, no one can complain.
#13 Maryland (0-0) @ West Virginia (1-0)
A tough loss for the Terps as West Virginia scores with 2:44 left to take the game 31-27. Dat King with a debut that was highlighted by 4 tackles. The Terps however couldn't get stops at the end and leave Morganstown 0-1.
Western Michigan (0-0) @ #14 Iowa (0-0)
Iowa wins 49-30. Drew Tate tosses up 5 TD's in the win.
Kent State (0-0) @ #22 Va Tech (0-0)
An easy 38-10 win for the Hokies. Bonetta doesn't see any action in the game however.
CAL (0-0) @ #5 Tennessee (0-0) GOTW
The Vols take the Game of the Week 35-26. Cal made a late push but runs out of time. Tokunaga doesn't see any action in the game.

VA TECH RB DEPTH CHART
1. HB #34 (RS SO) (89 OV)

WEEK THREE
FIU (1-1) @ #1 Florida (1-0)
We go into the Swamp and we put up a heavyweight fight with the #1 team in the Nation. Florida, those bastards, however pull it out 31-21. Three different FIU backs score TD's, but Chris Leak himself runs for 3 TD's and throws for 1 in the loss.
Tulane (0-0) @ #20 Auburn (0-0)
Auburn puts a 49-28 wooping on Tulane. Chad Rizzos collegiate debut is decent, catching 3 balls for 21 yards. Taylor however shows why he's an All American with 6 catches for 140 yards and 2 scores.
#21 Va Tech (1-0) @ Ohio (0-1)
Va Tech shows why they could win the ACC with a 31-0 win over the lowly Bobcats. Bonetta once again doesn't see any action. Top RB Robinson (Switched to fake name) has a solid game with 103 yards and a score.
Miami of Ohio (1-0) @ #14 Purdue (0-0)
In one of the wildest games so far this year, the Boilermakers escape with a 44-41 win in OT. Painter goes 20 for 29 for 275 yards and 3 TD in an impressive performance he needed to have for Purdue to win.
#24 Maryland (0-1) @ Clemson (1-0)
The Terps come back with a strong 31-23 win in Death Valley. It's big also because it was an early ACC contest for both teams. Dat King with only one tackle in the game but it's okay, the Terps get the win.
Boston College (1-0) @ Tulsa (1-0)
Boston College takes it in Tulsa 41-21. David Yellope left his mark on the Tulsa turf notching 3 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. BC is showing some tenacity early on as they improve to 2-0.
Buffalo (0-1) @ Minnesota (0-0)
The Golden Gophers positivley thump Bufflao by the tune of 41-10. Kevin Thomas, the top recruit coming into this year in the Nation has a decent debut in limited time with 3 tackles and 1 tackle for loss.
#25 Penn State (1-0) @ Notre Dame (0-1)
Penn State was not the same team we saw last week as they went to South Bend. The Irish put up 12 fourth quarter points to win 22-17. Jeff Nights sees limited time, gaining 10 yards on 3 carries in the loss. One of those carries however was for a TD.
UTEP (0-1) @ New Mexico (1-0)
UTEPs woes continue with a 24-21 loss to the Lobos. Tim Mougney catches 4 balls for 23 yards and adds one kick return for 21 yards in the loss.
#5 Tennessee (1-0) @ Memphis (0-0)
It wasn't much of a game as the Vols roll in Memphis 45-7. Mike Tokunaga sees some time in the route and chips in with 2 tackles. The Vols are looking like a BCS team early on.
#13 Iowa (1-0) @ Syracuse (0-0)
Iowa goes on the road and wins with ease 36-14. Drew Tate throws for 290 yards and 2 TD in the victory.
Akron (0-1) @ #7 NC State (1-0)
NC State gets a challenge but they hold off the Zips 34-23. Owen Hunter has 3 solo tackles for a D that had 9 sacks on the day, lead by Mario Williams 2.
#22 Ohio State (1-0) @ #12 Texas (1-0)
A joke of a game in Austin, as the Buckeyes roll 48-14. Seth Rodgers goes 2 for 3 in FG's and 6 for 6 in EP's in a game that was highly touted, and ended up being over by the half.

08-21-2005, 05:03 PM
WEEK FOUR
FIU @ Tulane
Tulane holds on for a 36-33 game. Our offense still can't get on track running the ball as we're held under 100 yards rushing as a team. After upsetting the Noles, we've become non-existent.
#23 Iowa State (1-1) @ #10 Iowa (2-0)
Iowa with a 33-20 win over a scrappy Cyclone squad. Drew Tate throws for 295 yards and a score in the win.
Cincinnatti @ #16 Ohio State (2-0)
The OSU offense rolls again with a 52-24 W over Cinncy. Rodgers with another nice day going 1 for 1 for FG's and 7 for 7 on EP's.
Ball State (1-1) @ #11 Purdue (1-0)
Purdue with a 34-14 win. Painter with 274 yards and 3 TD's in the W.
#25 Georgia Tech (1-0) @ #18 Va Tech (2-0)
The Jackets D was clutch all day as they go into Lane Stadium and come out with a huge early ACC win 17-10. Bonetta again rides the pine. The Hokies run game barely cracks a 100 total yards rushing on the day.
#13 Texas A&M (1-1) @ Army (0-2)
A&M takes it with ease 49-10. Treacy with no stats of note.
#1 Florida (2-0) @ #5 Tennessee (2-0) GOTW
Florida puts Tennessee out early in the Game of the Week with a convincing 31-17 win. The Gators are just too damn good with Chris Leak back at QB his senior year. Tokunaga doesn't get a chance to play the Nations top team.
Boston College (2-0) @ Florida State (1-0)
BC in another classic as they score a go ahead TD with 2:44 left to win 45-42 in Tallahassee. FSU scores 14 points in the fourth to take the lead but can't hold on. David Yellope is solid with 4 tackles, even though the game was one for the offenses to have fun with.
UTEP (0-2) @ Houston (0-1)
UTEP once again can't get it done, falling 33-30 in Houston in OT. Mougney has 1 catch for 7 yards and 1 kick return for 22 yards in the loss.
#7 NC State (2-0) @ #22 Maryland (1-1)
Another great ACC game as Maryland wins 36-29 in OT. The game saw 29 fourth quarter points and lots of big time plays. NC State DE Owen Hunter had 6 tackles, 2 of which were for loss and a sack in the loss. Maryland MLB Dat King had 4 tackles in the win.
Minnesota (1-0) @ Cal (0-1)
Minnesota dominates 36-13. Sadly, MLB Kevin Thomas gets injured and will be out 11 weeks with an Upper Arm Fracture which is horrible news for the Gophers.
#17 Auburn (1-0) @ Mississippi State (2-0)
It was a nailbiter but MSU couldn't get a 2 pt conversion late to tie, thus dropping the game 28-26. WR Chad Rizzo was Auburns leading reciever with 6 grabs for 50 yards and a 4 yard TD reception.
