Here is my attempt to work to compile all of the major FAQ's/Fixes we have so far for FOF 2007.
IS THERE EXPANSION/CUSTOM LEAGUE SIZE IN FOF 2007?
ANSWER: This feature is not available in FOF 2007. WHY DO THE BOX SCORES/GAME LOGS SHOW UP AS GARBLED TEXT?
PROBLEM: Your system is set to automatically open up .html files in a text editor instead of a web browser.
FIX:
Open My Computer
Open Tools -> Folder Options
Select "File Types" Tab
Select HTML
Select Change
Choose your Web Browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape, or another Web Browser) IN THE DEMO, WHY DOES PART OF THE SCREEN RUN OFF THE BOTTOM?
PROBLEM: You are at 1024 x 768.
FIX: The retail game has had this problem fixed. Expectations are that the demo will be fixed at some point also, but if you would like the demo to work for now you need to increase your screen resolution.WHY CAN'T I START A NEW GAME?
PROBLEM: You attempt to start a new game, but the OK button is greyed out and unable to be clicked.
FIX: Your league name must be 8 characters, less than 8 characters will not work.WILL SOMEONE BE MAKING A REAL PLAYER FILE?
PROBLEM: You don't read FOFC.
SOLUTION: The game comes with a real player file, but not real teams.WHAT DOES (x) MEAN FOR INJURY?
ANSWER: It means that the player has been re-injuredWHAT DOES A * MEAN ON THE INJURY SCREEN?
ANSWER: It means that the player is tired.WHEN VIEWING THE PLAYERS ON THE FA MARKET, WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE COLORS?
ANSWER:
GREEN: Affinity
BLUE: Conflict
RED: Pending offer for your team or expired contract from your team. WHY CAN'T YOU MAKE IT SO THAT THE WINDOWS STAY IN THE PLACE I SET THEM EACH TIME I LOAD THE GAME?
ANSWER:
You have no idea how hard I tried to do that a couple of years ago. MFC reports window positions very differently than one would expect, and it varies by operating system. I had it working for Windows Me, but it was a mess in Windows 2000. I bet I could do it for XP since things are more stable now, but people on older operating systems would see weird things like one-pixel sized windows that can't be moved and no access to the commands.
I made a nicer default layout, though, since the minimum screen resolution is larger.
Sometimes things that seem simple prove not to be. That's definitely an example.
