To get a good opinion on or even to evaluate the game,2 weeks into the season is'nt enough time. You see, being a stat cruncher as myself, how can one get an idea of what this game offers in #'s comparison to NFL stats? If someone could post league leader stats in all catagories that would be much help.
I'm looking for something better than "Madden" & no I did'nt purchase Head Coach....thank goodness. Now,if I want to see Mike Vick get 2,400 yrds rushing I'll go sim another season of Madden 2007.....so what does this game have to offer in realistic stats? I'm from Missouri....so show me!!!!!:p
Also,I was wandering how one would go about purchasing older versions of this game, like the 2004 version?

If you peruse the threads on this board, I'm sure you'll fine that the stats are quite realistic.

At the risk of sounding like one of "those" guys, have you tried searching any of the other 358 threads in the FOF2007 discussion forum under the keywords "statistic" or "accuracy" to see if anyone has posted concerning the statistical accuracy of the sim? The subject has cropped up a few times...

If you want an idea of the statisical output, I'd suggest going to the main page at www.frontofficefootballcentral.com and checking out the online leagues. Granted, most of them are FOF 2k4 leagues, but the statistical accuracy of 2k7 is actually better than 2k4, and what you see in the 2k4 reports will be enough to impress you.
If you want an example of the kind of statistical accuracy 2k7 has, there is a recent thread talking about running back careers in which people got jazzed and freaked out because in their league a couple of running backs were average about 1 carry more per game than you would statistically anticipate. The statisical accuracy of FOF makes Madden look like the ridiculous arcade game that is is. For an example, the most prolific rushing quarterback in my current career is Vince Young and the most he rushed for in a season is 560 yards.
The unfortunate reason Jim limits the demo is to prevent privacy. Hacked versions of FOF have made it around before, and offering up a final timed demo is a tempting invitation to pirates.
I'm from the Show-Me State too ... Jim showed me year ago all I need to see -- buy the game, you won't be disappointed, especially if statistical accuracy is your chief concern from a football sim.

If you just allowed someone to play a full season with the demo, so they could see the draft, etc...is that easy to hack as well? (no sarcasm...just an honest question)

I think the problem is that if he provided a full season demo, and it was hacked, you'd have the entire game. I know nothing about the mechanics of it, but this has been a constant question/criticism that Jim has responded to repeatedly, and he hasn't seen fit to change it, even knowing people like you might not buy because of it. If it's that big a concern, I assume it must be real.
Your best bet is to read the dynasties and such to get a feel for the stats or the way the draft works, etc. Many of us love the game, but those kinds of recommendations can only take you so far, I know.

Most versions of FOF were (like the current one) sold by electronic download only, so you'll neither be able to purchase them from the source nor be able to acquire them from others without a lot of hassle.
FOF Classic and FOF4 were released on CD, and they're occasionally offered here and the usual online auction sources. Keep in mind that 4 was two versions prior to the current one and significant changes have been made since then; and Classic was the very first version which bears only the vaguest resemblance to the FOF2007.

This is the career records and single season records from my “Draft pick dynasty” (http://www.operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=54714). It started in 2006 and is now in the start of 2012 with the c and d patch.

The limited demo was the reason I never picked up FOF 1. It was only luck that I wound up picking up FOF 2. I had left the solecismic page up on the screen and my father was looking for a christmas present for me and he wound up buying it even though I had no intention of purchasing it.

Welcome fellow Missourian!
I was going to post some stats, but that has already been done. I would say that this is the most accurate football game money can buy. ;)

Agreed. The NFL uses this game to play out it's "real" games and has been doing so for the past 3 years.

This probably deserves to go in some other thread, I just don't know where :)
The commenting on the viability of stats I agree with, for the most part seem really accurate. Has anyone ever seen one season just completely destroy anyone else before in a stat? I'm not really sure what to think of this, but its something that caught my eye recently. One of my DE's was near the top of the league in sacks, so I wanted to see how far off the leader he was... and well what a shock :)
Don't mind the teams, I started this with a full league draft, so people aren't where you expect them.

This is the only stat I could find where someone crushed the record by so much of a percentage in my playing so far.
