I just looked back at the transaction wire. I noticed that a computer team had a 1(7) pick. After signing him and training camp he was rated at 11/16. Total bust. The AI cut him. This is nice to see. I hadn't noticed this before. But nice to see them not wasting time on a total scrub.
I don't remember what he was scouted at before the draft But I know it wasn't that bad.

but what team would ever, and I mean ever cut a first round draft pick after camp?? Any chance for a rebound maybe? Ex. DT Bunkley for the Eagles this year.

After signing him? Never...even if the guy was a complete bust....

Now, with the salary cap money you have to spend on a pick? Never.

The Broncos did actually dump their first round pick one year in the middle of camp. Lost of Syracuse fans on the board, maybe some of them remember. Ted Gregory. He was dealt for Shawn Knight (a former first round bust himself) Neither player was around the NFL by the next year.

I was hoping they'd take the guy who went 14 picks later, Thurman Thomas. I've been wrong oh so many times, why did I have to be right that time? :(

Had it happen in 2K4 many times. At least now we have the chance to take a closer look at a guy first where as before we just had to rely on what the game told us.

From my experience 1st round picks who bust hard sometimes rebound a bit. If you hang on to him, chances are he might become a decent backup or borderline starter.
