RFA Deadline to Sign

When is the latest you can sign your RFAs? I like to wait as long as possible so their asking price will be at its lowest!

The last stage of the first FA period. After that, everyone can bid. However, I believe Skydog just discovered that RFAs won't drop their asking price in that FA period anymore. So, waiting does no good.

IIRC, they don't lower their asking price, though.

I can't say with 100% certainty that they never will, but here's what I know for certain:

1. This issue was on one of my lists of suggested tweaks that I sent to Jim. I considered it an exploit that you could wait to the final week to sign RFA's and get the lowest price. Guys who are on the open market should come down in price when they realize no one is offering, but not guys who only have one team offering now, but with the potential to hit the open market if that one team doesn't meet their asking price.

2. Before recently (as in up to 6.0c, and back in FOF2K4, too), *every* RFA who was requesting more than minisal would come down in asking price just about every week.

3. Since 6.0c, I've yet to see one come down in asking price. I can't say definitively that *none* come down, but I can say pretty definitively that a change was made here, probably in 6.0b or 6.0c.
