Eh, I need some help.
I was going to run a fictional solo league.
I wanted to change all the teams to different cities, IE smaller cities or cities that don't have an NFL team.
Couldn't relly figure it out..but I did it somehow (it's a pain) but now, even if I restart a new game, all the teams names are different. I even reinstalled the game..any help?
Well...I made changes and now when I go back, it's the new city names even if I reinstall the game.
Is there a easy way to change the names? It seems if you change City Affiliations, it doesn't change the city names on the standings etc, unless you go in and change that city name to say, San Francisco to Waco Tx. Even if I affiliated San Francisco with Waco Tx, it still is labeled San Francisco Gold Rush until I go in and change the San Francisco name to Waco Tx, then I have two Waco Tx in the city database. So I had to go back and Change the other Waco Tx (that was already in the database) to San Francisco?
Get what am I saying?
Thanks!

Does anyone know how I can get the original city names back? I reinstalled the game, but it didn't help. Do I need to uninstall or delete and then reinstall? I just reinstalled over it.
Thanks

I *think* if you delete the frfoot files in the Universe folder that will re-enable default cities, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

What are the steps to do that?

The default files are stored in the main game directory: cities.fdt and nicks.fdt. When you edit either city names, team nicknames, or which city gets which team, new versions of these files are created in the universe directory called frfoot.fcy and frfoot.fni.
To get back to the defaults, just delete those two files from your universe directory.
To run leagues with different city names or team nicknames (as many multiplayer leagues do), you can either keep extra copies of the 2 frfoot.* files and manually copy them before launching the league, or set up a batch file to copy and launch the game. For example, for WOOF I have a folder called "woof" in my FOF directory, and I keep copies of the frfoot.fcy and frfoot.fni files in that directory. I also have a batch file called "launch woof" that contains:
cd ..
copy woof\frfoot.* universe
start FrFoot2007.exe
You can do this for each setup you want to run.

Got it, I think...
I want to run a fictional league with smaller city teams or teams that don't have a NFL team already.
What's the best way to go about changing the names? Do I need to change affiliation etc? I'm sure I was doing something wrong, but I would change city affiliation. IE Dallas Cowboys, to Waco Warhawks, but on the team standings it would still be labeled Dallas Warhawks. I would have to go in, change the city name to Waco, but when I did that. I had the original Waco that was already in the database and then I had the Waco that I made when I renamed Dallas to Waco.
I hope I didn't make it to confusing. Like I said, I'm sure there is an easier way to do it.
Thanks for the help!

To put teams in different but pre-existing cities, the steps are fairly easy:
1) Back up your universe/frfoot.fni and universe/frfoot.fcy files if they exist so you can restore these later for other games. See above batch file instructions for an easy way to maintain multiple city / franchise setups.
2) Start FOF2k7.
3) Open the options window.
4) Select "Edit Franchise Nicknames".
5) Set the nicknames for each team in their appropriate division slot.
6) Click "OK".
7) Select "Edit City Affiliations".
8) Select the correct city for each team. As you do each one, remember to click the "Change" button.
9) Click "OK".
10) Exit FOF2k7.
11) Follow the batch file instructions above to save off the city / franchise data for easy switching.
12) Launch FOF2k7 with your new universe/frfoot.fni and universe/frfoot.fcy files.
13) Create your new career.
Everything should be as you desire.

I got everything but how to create a launch file. Right now, I have two folders, one named "default city names" and the other is named "fictional city names" I just move them back and forth to the unvierse folder depending on what I want to use.
