I noticed this in 2k4 as well, but never said anything about it since I play SP. Do any of you get this phenomena during your careers where most teams are unprofitable? I started in 1970 and here's a snapshot of the 1986 season (the salary cap in 1987 is $110 million):

Only 12.5% of the teams are profitable and when stadiums payments are taken out, it only rises to 15.6%. In MP leagues, does this also occur or is this just due to SP?

Why are the stadium payments showing up as credits? Shouldn't they be subtracted from profit to get adjusted profit? What kind of stadium did Oakland build? Wow!

He's taking stadium payments out of their net loss to show that nobody makes money on pure football games, even before they pay for a new arena.

I have also been noticing this for 4 versions now. Perhaps the gate revenues and TV revenues have to be adjusted significantly to make this more realistic. If you get close to Salary Cap, most teams will remain losing money in the current game model.

The best: 99,900 seat, 19,900 club seats, 399 luxury box stadium. Had to come to close to half of the cost to get it built. *grumble*

Yeah, I think the financial part of FOF is the worse part of the game - especially if you try to emulate the NFL. Truth is, in the NFL even Matt Millen can make scads of money, as the league is so good as a whole that teams just usually sell out no matter how bad they are.
But aside from NFL comparisons, I think it's too hard to make money.

How much are those jokers charging for admission? Do stadium payments correlate with increased seat prices, licenses etc as in real life?

I'm the joker. ;)
Anyhow, the stadium payments correlate with the stadium cost. You can pay up to half of the cost of the entire stadium (or renovation) and how much you contribute will help determine the likelihood of it being built.
This is what I'm charging in 1987:
Upper Deck: $35
End Zone: $40
Mezzanine: $45
Sidelines: $50
Club Seats: $55
Luxury Boxes: $30,000
I have one of the lowest average price ($255). The highest are the New York Giants ($682) and the lowest are the Miami Dolphins ($139). I'd charge more, but my average income is $26,700, one of the lowest in the nation. El Pasoans make more money.
