Willis McGahee is holding out after I franchised him for the third year in a row and I'm wondering if he gets paid each game he sits out?
If he sits out all year, does he get his $7.6 million?
I think he is paid unlike in real life
this happened to me in fof2004 with an unsigned rookie who held out for a looooong time. I think the problem is that once a season starts and you then agree a contract you have to pay a player from the start of the seaseon as if he played every game. If the player wanted 3.4M in salary and holdsout for 2 games i dont think his contract reduces to 3.0M which it should.
This also applies to players who you sign mid season and then cut they get paid for all games before they were signed. e.g. a reserve punter signed for game 15 and 16 and then cut gets paid for 16 of the 17 weeks even though he only played two games.
I posted on this a while back and the stunned silence I encountered obviously means the entire FOF community is still shocked by this revalation (or else they aren't interested)

Well, good thing for me then..he ended his holdout right after the exhibition season.

Be careful. I had a guy do that and he wouldn't resign with me. If he is a FA after this year I would give him a long term deal now before the season is over if you plan on keeping him.

In my experience, you're pretty much screwed after you franchise him and you let him hold out for any period of time and then try to resign him. I always get the "past injustices" message. After 3 consecutive years...I'm surprised he hasn't knifed you yet.

When he first held out I tried to sign him.. no go. I think he's done with me after this year. (I'll run his ass to death!) ;)

When he holdouts for a new contract you could sign him then. But if you wait you are screwed.
