Ok I'm rooting it out for the most part, and I've researched this board to find out that some stuff has just not been discovered yet. Still there are a couple things I havent found answers too.

Is there any way I can keep the computer from changing the players who i designate to start, I keep trying to play Micheal Huff at SS but it substitutes in Derrick Gibson.

How do I send a player off for the summer?

If i could get a leyman's strategy on the draft that I could work off of, that would be great.

Global options turn OFF coaches making changes. Read your emails.

How do I send a player off for the summer? It happens right before the beginning of free agency, at the same stage where you select your franchise player and set ticket prices. The "SUMMER" button will be activated for all 2nd-year players. You get a reminder via e-mail.

If i could get a leyman's strategy on the draft that I could work off of, that would be great. The biggest thing to remember with the draft is that pretty much all the information you're given on a player matters: bars, personality, combine results, and overall ratings. Compare players to others within the same position in the draft class in various categories to get a sense of who is better. Pay attention to how they are rated in the particular attributes that are important to your system. Never forget that your scouts can be off, too. The better they are at the particular position group, the more you can trust the bars.

I'm playing with the Raiders, with the qb situation dismal I decided just to pick up a guy with good potential in FA and start him.

I signed Jason Cash 14/56, He was very intelligent (84), His best attributes were 3rd down passing/Two minute drill/Medium Passing. I also designed my offense to favor a short/medium passing attack.

As I started simming Cash began to play really well and when I ended the season he finished with 64.4 3200 24 tds 7 ints with a Qb rating of 94.4.

Thanks to him I made the playoffs with the Raiders! So i'm wondering is this a qaurk in the game or did I really find a diamond in the rough.

Lot's of variables here.

What's you scout's ratings in QBs?

What was Cash's final current and future rating at season's end?

Do you have a mentor as a QB on the team?

How old is Cash?

There's probably many more questions I could ask, but you get the idea. A lot goes into this game so it will not be just one thing.

Unfortunately when I tried to load the draft class, the game crashed and seeing as it was just one season into it I hadnt saved it yet, So Cash is forever lost :(.

At the end of the season he was 20/56, I didnt have a mentor on the team. I dont know about the Scout or Cash's actual age but he was a rookie.

One more thing I'm having trouble with, When scouting the players before the draft I find it really difficult to find players that arent graded at the highest to scout.

I mean i know who's going to be going in the 1st and 2nd rounds because they are graded higher than the others but I dont know what to look for in sleepers that go on the 2nd day of the draft. Part of the Reason is I dont know what alot of the combine categories correlate too or what is good for what position.

Does anyone have any advice on finding the 2nd day players?
