I understand what type of block this represents.

My LT has 7 pancake blocks.

He also has to his credit 31 KRBs.

Are the 7 pancake blocks included in the 31 KRBs?

Does a pancake result in a bigger running play gain in yardage vs. a KRB?

What is the difference in the two in terms of effect on the field?

Does blocking strength play a major role in the number of pancakes?

TXS.

Wow that's a lot of questions. I can answer some. I looked at this is in a lot depth about 6 months and came to this conclusion: that while most pancake blocks are KRBs, not all pancake blocks are KRBs. So, it's likely most of your guy's pancake blocks are included in the 31 KRBs, but not necessarily all.

In addition, to that, additional research by QS, me, and others basically shows that KRBs have a very high team element to them (best described as successful runs by the team behind this player as the blocker). Pancakes, on the other hand I firmly believe are a pure individual stat based mostly on a player's strength rating.

I don't think anyone knows whether a pancake KRB provides a bigger running play than a non-pancake KRB.

Thanks VfP!

Your comment about a very high team element...would OL cohesion% be a factor in KRBs?

I believe so, along with ratings along the whole O-line.
