View Full Version : continual crashes

Not sure if anyone else has experienced multiple crashes with FOF recently, but I appear to be having a hell of a time.

It always seems to happen while trying to open a player screen while viewing a trade offer from the AI.

Most recently, I experienced a crash while trying to view my own player that had been offered for, just after pressing the "begin free agency" button.

Anyone else?

dola

I reckon I should qualify that I have patched to 6.1.

Thanks!

Just recreated it again. Appears to be the same spot every time.

Nobody else is having these crashes. If you are having a problem, send an email at support--AT--solecismic.com.

With crashes, I need very specific information, which is usually available from the "report" you can send to Microsoft (what they do with it is anyone's guess). From that box, you can get more information about the crash report, and the first few lines about registers and the type of error are useful.

If it's repeatable, a detailed list of the actions leading to the crash is helpful.

That's a rather assumptive statement given that no one else has posted, no? :P

I'll help Yabanci's argument by saying I haven't had a single crash then.. :)

not at all. This game has been out for nearly a year and collectively hundreds of thousands of seasons have been simmed with it. The absence of reports about the problems you describe is solid evidence that other people are not having those problems.

From time to time someone has a crash. When that happens, the thing to do email the developer with information he requests so that whatever the problem is can be resolved.

Yabanci, you did say "no one" else.

Well, actually, a patch was released not two weeks ago. Think that may have altered things any?

Since this crash is happening for me at the same place each and every time, pardon me for thinking someone else might be able to recreate it. Thank you kindly for your insight.

No, I don't think that has altered things any. I was trying to help you out. If you don't want to email support, suit yourself.

Will the other person whose game is continually crashing please step forward: MrIllini is looking for you.

Wow. A major patch couldn't have affected anything that would cause the game to crash?

I've already e-mailed support. In fact, I had already done that when you suggested it.

Forgive me for thinking that a forum dedicated to the game might be a good place to attempt to discuss the issues I'm having.

FWIW, I don't need your help.

then don't come here asking questions. If it wasn't me, somebody else would have told you the exact same thing. You asked a question. I answered it correctly and provided extra information that might help you. Don't be such an ingrate.

Pardon me, but I doubt you're the king of the FOF-question/answer pumpkin patch.

Perhaps it'd be worthwhile for someone to post that they are having a problem with crashes, b/c it's very possible that someone out there is having the exact same problem.

So shut ur trap. ;)

I have nothing to do with your pumpkin patch, which is why I said if it wasn't me, somebody else would have said the same thing. I simply happened to be online and answered a question that anybody else who reads these boards could have answered. Now I get crap from you because I posted for him the developer's instructions for what to do if you have a crash?

Fair enough, RedKingGold, since it apparently bothers you so much, I will make sure I don't do it again. Per your request, I will shut my trap and cease posting in your little pumpkin patch. It doesn't matter to me.

And yes, it would be worthwhile for someone to post they are having the same problem with crashes. We'll continue waiting for that person.....

I just received a trade offer from the AI, and remembered this post. I went into the view trade, and opened both players (mine and theirs). I also opened 10 other players from each team.

No crash.

Pretty snotty response, actually. I'll miss your future quibbles.
