An Orthodox in Azerbaijan: A CK Dynasty Take 2 - COMPLETE

I want to try it out again. Obviously, I got man handled by Azerbaijan last time, so I want to see what I can do this time.

I will start by initiating some of the changes and decisions I made last time.

I make the same marriage proposals.

I start the game with around 520 men in my army. For comparison, Dwin has 275, Shemakha is with 605, Shirvan has 814, Azerbaijan is with 770 - those are the adjacent muslem provinces.

The changes that I make adjusted my troop numbers, going down, and then eventually back up.

I could attack Dwin right now - not enough troops to win a siege however. Ah well. I make teh same changes as last time to my country (I switch to Feudal COntract and Regal Supremacy)

Alright, let's see what we can do.

In order to survive the first few years, I suspect that I need to find allies and quickly. I don;t care who they pray to, just as long as they have a sword to use.

This time I'll have to be less picky about any alliance offers I get. I send out offers to Azerbaijan and the Emirate of Derbent.


Jan 3 1067 - Azerbaijan turns our alliance offer down.

Jan 14 1067 - Nubia again offers an alliance. I know I said I wouldn;t turn anybody down, but they are so far away. It's literally 17 provinces away. I can't take that.

Jan 17, 1067 - The Emir of Aleppo comes calling again. This time,. I accept. We are now allied with the Emirate of Aleppo, one province with a one province sheik as a vassal.

Derbent declined our alliance proposal.

My son is expecting. The wedding between my count and Adelais has been refused. She was married off to another. Need to find a new wife for the count. I find a suitable Russian bride and make an offer.

Feb 6 - She becomes my bride.

My new bride:

Vseslava of Gorodez, 25, 5/12/11/9 stats. She is Chaste and Sceptical.

Shes a great courtier, and even if we only have maybe one kid over the course of the marriage, she's still good for the court. Remember that the count has a great marshal statistic to make up for her 5 in it.

My Courtiers:

With her 12 diplomacy, Vselava is our chancellor, which helps to make up for my lord's 4, to give us a total of 16.
Mariam is our Steward to bring our total to 16
Smbat, my brother, is still our Marshal to bring our total to 23
Hovhannes, my son, is our Spy Master, bringing our intrigue to 14.

Alrigtht, good show. My wife, brother, son, and daughter in law are my courtiers.

April 23, 1067 - The count and countess are expecting.

August 6 - 1067 - In the last campaign, Azerbaijan DOWed us on August 5. It looks like things have changed. Whew.

August 26, 1067 - Azerbaijain against DOWs us.

Within a few months, we are again dead.
