What're the most important coaching traits that you must have if you're a head coach, offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator? I've always hired coordinators who have good play calling skills, and for head coach, I try to get the most well-rounded ones, but I always seem to get costly penalties and a lot of my players seem to get injured with certain head coaches, so I'm just wondering what you guys think is the most important trait for coaches to have. Thanks.

First off, only the ratings highlighted in red are used, so ignore the play calling ratings for your coordinators They're only there for development.
COORDINATORS: I look for Young Talent first, then development skills at my positions needing development next.
HEAD COACH: This depends. If I'm playing (as in MP) with injuries at 150 or less, I tend to think that play calling skills and discipline might now be more important than injury avoidance. But in SP, where I use injuries at 200 or 250, injury avoidance reigns supreme.

My current head coach is:
Motivation - Good
Discipline - Good
Offensive Playcalling - Excellent
Defensive Playcalling - Excellent
Injury Avoidance - Very Good
Should I cut him loose?
And what about scouts?

a timely post. i've just thrown all my toys out of the pram regarding my head coaches discipline rating in my Cleveland dynasty thread. The Browns are getting killed on penalties and it seems to me that any coach with less than good in this area is a waste of time.
The problem is that I know that if I get Genghis Khan in is as head coach, penalties will be less of an issue but how does his lack of understanding in other areas effect the team? Personally i have no idea (other than avoid injury) but, then again, the lack of easy answers is one of the reasons why I keep playing this game.

This is a terrific head coach. Keep him as long as you can.
As for scouts, I look for Young Talent first so I can get a good read on the draft, and then look for important positions for my philosophy.
