The WOOF just completed its fourth regular season, and the OSFL has completed three. I just realized that in both cases, only two teams have made the playoffs every season. Obviously, the sample size is quite small, but I'm wondering if there might be something systemic here. Due to there being fewer star-quality players in FOF2K7 than its predecessor, I would have assumed, we should have more "dynasty" type teams--the five or six teams with the good QBs making playoff runs every season. So far, at least from my experience, we're not seeing that in FOF2K7-only leagues. Any thoughts on this? Sample size? Talent? Something else?

I know that at least two of the early FOF2K7-only leagues folded fairly quickly, so we may not have a decent pool of data to pull from yet, and I tend to suspect that the WOOF is farther along than the other FOF2K7-only leagues, but I'd still love to hear from others as to if you're seeing anything similar to this, or is it still just too early to tell?

Well as a fan of the WOOF and and member of OSFL, I think that the similarities found within both leagues are more based on relative skill level of each group. In WOOF there seems(I just read what ya'll have over there) to be a lot of knowledge amongst the group of GMs which maintains a level playing field. For the most part, in the OSFL, most of us are still rather new and tinkering here and there. The level of luck involved in OSFL is still evened out except for a few FOF vets we have in the league. Our lack of skill, maintains the same amount of parity found in WOOF, in my opinion.

I say it’s a question of sample size at this point.

Just checked with the NAFL (converted league) and after 11 seasons of play only a single team have still not made the playoffs and just four teams is still without a playoff win.

The EFL is a FOF2k7 only league half way through its 4th season. We have one real dynasty (the Eagles) who won the first two superbowls, lost in the conference finals, and in the 4th season is 9-0 (15-1, 13-3, 12-4 in previous years). And there are other regular playoff contending teams.

But the Browns went from a 4-12 season in the 2nd year to a 10-6 superbowl winning season in the 3rd year. The Cowboys were 3-13 in the 3rd year and are now 7-2 in the 4th year. Last year's 1-15 Chargers are 5-3 and leading their division.

Through the 3rd season 4 teams made the playoffs in each year (Eagles, Colts, Bengals, and Cardinals). 9 teams didn't make the playoffs at least once in the first 3 years (3 of them are in the same division).
