The graduation party is this weekend. I can't wait. Legion Ball is going well, and I start practicing with Cal State Fullerton in only a few weeks. Life is fucking good! My girlfriend doesn't know about my other girlfriend, and my other girlfriend doesn't know about the girl behind the gym. I'm fucking phenominal.

Ugh. Who is calling now? I told everyone I am not to be bothered today, I got shit to do. Hit the cages, do some long toss, talk to my coaches at Fullerton.

"Drayton, it's for you .. it's important!"

Damnit. Of course it's important. It always is.

"Yeah?"

"This is Tommy Aarons, West Coast Scout with the Chicago Cubs. I just wanted to let you know we drafted you in the 11th round of this years draft. Congratulations."

"..."

Me .. Drafted? I never gave that any thought!

"We'd like to offer you a contract to come play with us and potentially be our new catcher of the future. What do you say?"

"Um .. wow. Well, let me talk this over with my family. I'll call you back.."

"Sounds good son, take your time!"

"Oh hey Drayton, I'm good. So tell me the good news?"

"I'll see you in Spring Training. I'm gonna be a Cub!"

I couldn't believe it. I was going to be a fucking Cub! 100 years of futility? Meh, let them have a few more. I want all that pride and adjulation all for myself when I hoist that trophy over my head and become known as the new Mr. October!

My debut game, even if it is Spring Training, I'm amped. Looks like skip has me starting vs Barry Zito. I saw him pitch last year. If he's worth 140 million, I'm worth twice that.

AB #1 Zito works me inside and I won't bite. Finally he drops a hook that stays up in the zone. I lace it to center and I think I got my first jack. But it falls about 100 feet short. Fucking wood bats!

AB #2 Hennessey takes the hill. I gotta be sippin' on some for this joker to get me out. On a 2-1 count I lace a single through the box for my first hit. Keep it I tell Randy Wynn. 3000 real ones are comin' when I make the Show for real.

AB #3 Steve Klien jammed me and I pop out. Lucky SOB.

In the Field I see Omar Vizquel at first creeping. I call for a FB but I get a curve instead. Vizquel has a great jump and steals second with ease. God damnit!

AB #4 Herrenger gets me to line out to first. This is gettin' ridiculous!

AB #5 In the 11th inning of a 0-0 game I smash one to the right side of the infield but the 1B makes a good play. I manage to get the man over.

AB #6 Fuck Shit Damn Bitch! I lace out to the gap but Wynn tracks it down. I can't buy a hit. We put up 3 though, thank God, I got shit to do.

We end up winning 3-0. I make the final putout on a pop up. I'm livid I was 1-6 for but we'll get em again tomorrow.

February 29th, 2008: Cubs vs Giants

I'm Catchin and battin 8th. I feel good today.

AB 1 Wow. Omar Vizquel makes a helluva diving play at SS but can't make the throw and I got my first infield single. I'll give that MF props. Rich Hill comes up and bunts. He lays a beauty down and scoots to 1st. We now have the bases juiced. The next man up singles and I'm at third with one out. And Felix Pie walks so I come in for my first run. BITE IT MATT CAIN!

AB #2 Pinella isn't happy. I chase on a heater high and outside and I pop out to third base. Some BS. I think he used a spitball. Only explanation I got.

AB #3 First pitch swinging is the bane of my existence. I get a pitch I can drive, but I drive it right to Dave Roberts in left who doesn't even move. Wheres Barry when you need him?

In the Field We're up 11-1 and Dave Roberts steals. What a D-Bag! I almost got him too. Oh well. Natural causes will get him soon enough.

AB #4 Ugh. Again, I can't find the fucking gaps! Wynn tracks down another shot into a gap. Thankfully we're up 11-2 at this point so I can go find a couple of slags and have them ice down my tender groin.

Great! i'll be reading for sure and will start my own soon, but not sure if as SP or hitter.

Btw, don't you think you will get tired ot writting as detailed at bats? it's nice for us to read, but i'm afraid you will expend more time writting than playing. In my incoming dynasty i'll just do fast game recaps with stats.

MEH! Spring didn't go as planned. I couldn't fucking hit and I paid for it as I am off to Tennessee to play for the Smokies. AA Ball. God damnit! I am not even penciled in to start yet. I guess thats what happens when you hit .260 with no jacks. Least I proved chicks just don't only long balls. God I love me some Southern poo poo.
