View Full Version : small suggestion for next version of FOF
I have this DT who is unhappy.
He's started all 16 games, with 100% playing time since week 4 (when he announced his disgruntled nature).
He has no conflict with another player. Nor does anyone have one with him
He is well-liked.
His report shows nothing that could affect this.
...so I propose, that during the same time that we get to franchise one player, and send one player to summer camp, could we not also have a new feature enabling us to send one player for councilling and prozac!

What is his loyalty?
Even though he is starting and his playing time is 100%, check how many plays he is actually involved in. If he gets bumped on some of the other formations he might not be getting a ton of time.

Yup. Highly likely he's not on the nickel and dime packages and that your team plays them a lot. I had a guy like this and he didn't gruntle until I placed him on the nickel and dime packages.
Why the AI didn't do so automatically is another issue.

As I recall, the dime only has 3 D linemen and the nickel might as well.
WLBs get like this too...so if I have a good pass rushing WLB I stick him at DE on the dime packages.

I've read this a couple times now about moving a WLB to DE on the Dime. For everyone that does this, does this mean you only have one decent DE and your WLB is actually better than your 2nd DE? Would you rather have a quality 2nd DE that played all game or a quality WLB that you could move to DE?
I've been moving my WLB to MLB because unfortunately both of my OLB's are better than my MLB and neither will move inside without losing ratings. I have two solid DE's so no way I'm moving my WLB to DE. I would guess the drop off from WLB to MLB is better than the drop off from WLB to DE. If you have a good MLB and SLB, wouldn't it be better to trade your WLB and try to get a good 2nd DE?

My DE's tend to get tired during the season unless I'm playing them 50-55%. This way, I can keep them out there on normal defenses and get them some rest on the dime packages.
I usually only do this if (1) my WLB is whining; (2) he's pretty good; and (3) the DE in question is not that great on pass rush. I never check to see if the WLB would lose points playing there...I'm just getting him in the game.
Of course I can 15-20 years between Super Bowls too...so I'm not exactly a genius at this game.

You don't even have to have been in a nickle formation for him to be subbed out if he isn't in your nickle formatio. The game uses nickle formation defensive linesmen if you're aggressively expecting pass, even if your not in nickle formation. I have a defensive tackle on 100% but he's not in my nickle line up and he plays in less than 50% of all plays. So it depends how aggressively you defend pass. Look at his playing time and see if that's what's happening. (ie how many running and passing plays he plays in on his stats).

To take that from Superman, maybe he is the invincible man.

I think this would be a lot easier / better if players were rated on an absolute scale instead of the current position relative. What's the consensus of the community? Would we, as a whole, rather have players rated on an absolute scale, or keep it as is? (I'm thinking back to the RB/TE as Slotback discussion, not to mention comparing RB to FB and FB to TE)

How many years playing this game (okay, so only like 6 months with the current version) and I totally missed that fine print.
That would be invisible man.
To take that from Superman, maybe he is the invincible man.
What's even sadder is that I picked up on the fine print referenced here much quicker than I did the Nickle Defensive Linemen bit.

People, if you don't get Subby's signature, than you probably never heard of jbmagic.
And, yes, nice catch Subby. When did that get added to the depth chart screen? :o
