Concept

This will be a somewhat standard game of Werewolf with flair. There will be two teams plus some individual win possibilities. The game will travel from bar to bar with various challenges available should you choose the correct option

No Lynch is not allowed
Nightfall is not allowed
Tie conditions known only to me

I'll flesh this out later but the teams will be Crawlers and Wolves. In addition, every villager has a chance for an individual win by being the drunkest person alive at the end of the game (Crawlers must win for this to be awarded). You'll have the option each day of how much to drink at a given bar, but be warned, the drunker you are, the more drunk you'll act. Night actions could get jumbled, votes could get nullified and other haphazard situations (drunk in public!) could arise.

Signups will run until Monday

Two deadlines

Lynch/Day Action: 2 PM EST
Night Action: 5 PM EST

No action on weekends

Come one, come all, I'd love tons of players of course!

Plus you drink the best drink on the planet.

Yeah, the four places I frequent here have gotten used to me so I no longer even have to say "Double Captain and Coke, no lime, no straw." Now, I just order "A Captain" and life is good.

can we do this for real please?

jeheinz72
08-13-2008, 12:08 PM
Ha, that's my exact drink. Fruit does not belong near a good (alcoholic) drink and straws are for milkshakes for chrissakes.

I'm down. Hell, we'll be using my college town for the bars in the game so we could do it for real, you're all welcome!

can we do this for real please?

No kidding.

This game sounds awesome Heinz - I am definitely in. I am not THAT far graduated from college :)

Good Lord, it's like we were separated at birth. I may never vote against you again.

Excellent, because we're almost always on opposite sides!

No, though it is encouraged.

should we assume normal roles?

Lathum
08-13-2008, 12:37 PM
so the lynch deadline is 9:00 AM PST?

Telle

so the lynch deadline is 9:00 AM PST?

Yeah, I work 6 A - 3 P PST and it's the best way I could do it and still have enough time for night actions. If you guys think 5 hours is too much for night time I could move the lynch deadline back to 10 or 11 PST too

jeheinz72
08-13-2008, 01:27 PM
should we assume normal roles?

I wouldn't ass-u-me anything necessarily.

I'll write up more on roles though later today or tomorrow.

i would cut back on the night hours some.. I mean thats prime discussion time!

08-13-2008, 01:35 PM
Hmmm. Jameson neat or double vodka cranberry. Or maybe both! I'm in.

The only catch is most nights people will have to submit an action, so I can't make it too narrow of a window.

Would 2 and 5 be enough of a gap folks?

Do what works best for you man. and Drink me count in a gimme!!

Lathum
08-13-2008, 01:55 PM
I just think if it is to early a lynch deadline it handicaps deadline strategy but by all means do whats best for you

Lathum
08-13-2008, 01:55 PM
in!

jeheinz72
08-13-2008, 02:48 PM
Oh it's not really a matter of what works best for me. I can basically process any two deadlines in the span I'm at work whether close together or farther apart it's no biggie.

So really it's up to you guys and how much time you think you need to have in there to hop on and do a (possible) night action

path12
08-13-2008, 03:39 PM
Three hours seems a good gap, but I'm of the opinion that you should do what is most convenient for you and we'll adjust to it.

jeheinz72
08-13-2008, 03:40 PM
Ok, I'm changing it to 2 and 5 PM (EST). That should be cool by me.

Game sounds awesome Heinz...the deadlines are right in the middle of my work day without access to a comp so I'll have to pass, but I did want to say it looks fun!! Fun concept! :)

PurdueBrad
08-14-2008, 12:30 AM
Drunk...I'm drunk...and none of you bastards are around. Oh well, I'll catch you tomorrow with my hangover.

jeheinz72
08-14-2008, 01:12 PM
Bumpity. We're uh, gonna need more than 8...

PurdueBrad
08-14-2008, 01:13 PM
Heinz, if we drink enough, we'll see double so the sign-up list will actually have 16 insteand of 8.

Schmidty
08-14-2008, 01:23 PM
If this doesn't start before the 22nd, I can play. That's when I get home from MI.

path12
08-14-2008, 01:36 PM
I'm going to have to move my name to the alternate list. I've just not had the time during the day to do much and I think that's going to last at least another week or so.

If you need me to fill, leave me in, but I'll be quieter than usual.

jeheinz72
08-15-2008, 03:00 PM
Hrm, well, not sure what to do here with just 7 confirmed in the game.

Is it just timing? I can wait a week, no problem there.

Is it the theme? I'd happily change it

Is it the ketchup porn? Because I'm already seeking help for that addiction.

I don't think it's the theme or anything, more like late summer. I had a game I couldn't fill around this time last year and wondered the same things you are.......

jeheinz72
08-15-2008, 03:15 PM
I get it, you all hate me! :)

Anyhow, what does everyone prefer? I can run a small simple game starting mid-next week or we can wait a full week and go with this. I'm cool either way

PackerFanatic
08-15-2008, 05:06 PM
Maybe do both - having been out of the large game since almost the start, I am itching to get back into one - but I really love the sound of this concept and would love to see it tried, just maybe in a week or two when we got more people around!

Tyrith

Last game had trouble filling and wasn't auspiciously active, either. It's probably a timing issue - right before school starts back and summer ends and all kinds of life stuff going on. We had a couple of good games in June/July; it's probably just a cyclical thing.

claphamsa
08-15-2008, 08:14 PM
yeah, and this sucks... i might have to take a month off for work :(

claphamsa
08-15-2008, 08:14 PM

RendeR
08-15-2008, 08:41 PM
If you're going to wait a week, my small game is already listed and the rules posted, people can jump in there and I can run that while signups fill in for your game heniey.

08-17-2008, 07:58 PM
There have been some ebb/flows in sign-ups in the past, and I'm pretty sure Path is right about the timing with late summer.

I'm hoping I'll be able to get back in the mix with playing some of these in another month or so, but right now work is just ridiculous.

I've been waiting for this post.

jeheinz72
08-18-2008, 12:06 PM
Ok, I think the best plan is to have RendeR run his small game while this one gets shelved for a week to see if we can get more folks. I'll update the roles post in the next day or so for folks like BK who were waiting on that.

I'll PM RendeR so he can get on it.

If anyone who is signed up but has to back out because we're delayed a week, just PM/post and I can move you.

The Jackal
08-19-2008, 01:11 PM
Sorry Heinz, I'm going to have to back out as I'm going to be in Costa Rica from the 25th-31st. Would've been okay if that was the last couple of days because I could check it on my phone, but I don't wanna be that attached to my phone on vacation if the game will start right when I leave.

jeheinz72
08-19-2008, 01:55 PM
No worries Jackal.

Ok, we need some guidance here from our Mr. Moderator. It doesn't look like waiting a week will get a full game.

Shall I just re-start with a small game and we'll go with large games after Labor Day?

Barkeep49

Bump. I'm excited to see a large game going. Thanks again to clap for stepping up with a small game.

jeheinz72

I actually don't think I'm going to have the time to run a game right now. Can I can this one and just have Lathum go?

Realistically the end of the year is super-busy for my job. I'll be lucky to get to play more than a few times.

claphamsa
09-02-2008, 10:59 AM
it is for me too! but i can still play :D

I'll know better where I stand after this week. First week of a new semester is always a bit hairy. (and I am talking about the students this time....)

And kudos to me for f*cking it up. (BTW, why is * in that word acceptable? It's the same f*cking thing.)

BTW, I'm up for your game, since I have no plans of going anywhere for the next 3-4 months.
