This may be something that shouldn't be posted about, but I think it would be interesting if people playing or not playing posted guesses as to whom they think is playing whom in the Apocalypse game. Of course before any of us guess I would want Hoopsguy/Tyrith's opinions. And no one should say yes/no to anyone's guesses.

Anyone else think this might be fun?

Someone else had asked me about this earlier - sounds like several of us are thinking along the same lines.

I'm looking for a way to implement this into the game right now. If I can come up with a good way to do it, then I won't be revealing the "player behind the mask" upon death in order to allow people to submit guesses.

So if people have been working on this, keep taking notes. I'll update either this thread or the in-game thread by the end of the night with an announcement on this subject.

The possiblity that others may attempt to glean something of our true identities has occured to me, however, I think the task may prove too daunting to many observers as a result of the massive volume of posts and players. Nonetheless, I shall be amused by any postulations posted.

OK, game on. Submit your guesses to Tyrith and me via PM. Deadline for this is Friday at 9PM CST. Tiebreaker is the total number of posts in the game thread between deadline on Friday night and the Mission posting on Monday morning.

The person with the most correct answers wins the services of Jewel, whose private investigator skills can be used every other day to tail a target. This will not count as a special action and will not cost any energy.

I'll look to put in some "balance" to prevent the wolves from sharing information with each other and gaining an unfair advantage in this process. I expect the winner will end up being percentage-based, but I'm up for suggestions (publicly or privately) if people have them.

The winner of the contest will be announced Monday morning in this thread. However, the identities of the players will not be revealed until the conclusion of the game.

Nope, don't get the player list.

Also, GhostRider and MrFantastic have been removed from the list of eligibles to guess on account of bad in-game posts. So work with the remaining 29 accounts. Hopefully there won't be a need to further prune the list between now and Friday night :eek: :popcorn:

Wouldn't know. Someone might've fingered me as Nightcrawler, but I think the contest was over well before the Shadow King's presence was confirmed.

I figured out you were the Shadow King Jackal on the last day when you had posessed Scarlet Witch.

I also knew that whoever the scarlet witch was, wasn't lying about it. Like I said before I figured Lathum was the scarlet witch, but either way I knew it was the truth.

The reason I knew? because of the lag the scarlet witch had earlier in the game showed up in a funky formated post just as it did the last day, and that would have been something a bit crazy to fake. (ie: in case you were wondering when I asked which had the lag). Then later the reference to a hockey game.. that clued me in that it was the jackal at that point who was the shadow king.

That's when I figured you must have known who I was, since I'm sure I've mentioned those lag issues to you before. Punisher said something about how I missed the sarcasm in that post where you asked, and I still don't get what he was talking about.

we talked about guessing who you were in the thread. passacaglia picked you correctly. I didn't submit any guesses, but I was sure it was you based on how aggressive you were as Colussus-it's how you normally play Werewilf, at least the games i've been in with you.

I think there were only a few of us who got to reprise our character. If I remember it was because of winning in the first go-around.

I take pride in the fact that no one had the slightest idea who I was, and loved the anonymity...Talking to Hoops about the day i got lynched, i was pretty sure that i never would have come as close as i did to getting out of it if everyone knew that Beast = saldana.

Alan slipping up could have cost the wolves but because he was a prelate he had a good excuse for why he wasn't being killed by the wolves. I pretty much know that it was only the knowledge that he was Alan that made me suspicious of Mr F (too late, in any case).

I disagree -- I think the fact that people knew it was Alan made it so that they didn't want to say anything against him that last day.
