In the TFL I have a FL Lionel Summers. I drafted him in the allocation draft in the 8th round and he came into the league rated in the high 50s / low 60s (can't exactly remember the number).

He busted in TC the next season and is now down to a 34/34.

I drafted Archie Griffin (who has been a little disappointing at RB) who seemed to have good bars/combine to make the move from RB to FL.

So, I move Griffin (he went from a 49 rated RB to a 56 rated FL) and noticed I had an overload at FL and decided I would move Summers to SE. Then I noticed an interesting thing.

While he is red in both WR positions, when I position change him from FL to SE, his rating jumps from 34/34 to 34/44 and he gets a good amount of green in some very key bars.

Thoughts?

Do you remember what was his cur/ovr when he was drafted?

My thought is that he was very masked, showing much greater potential than he actually had, so when he is switched to a position where he doesn't have full XP that masking re-appears. I would bet dollars to donuts he ends up as a 34/34 once his XP fills.

I've found that you can find little interesting case studies in switching players, like Yoda has, and seeing where the cur/ovr numbers go and, more interestingly, what happens to the bars.

His XP bars are full.

After:

For the record, he played and started all 16 games his 1st 2 seasons. We are 2 games into season 3.

That'd be my bet, too - what you're seeing when he's at SE is the view when he's 98% developed. What you're seeing at FL is the 100% developed view; and he'll bump back down to 34/34.

Just to be clear, the second screenie is before the commish actually runs the file? It's just what happens when you do the switch on your machine? I wouldn't take anything away from that if so.

Yes, that is the SS before the export.

I'm one to think that there's actually a difference (albeit small) between SE and FL, which is what you're seeing from the switch. Some bars are more valuable at FL than SE, and vice versa. Perhaps by switching him, some of the scouts had reason to believe that his skill set was better suited to SE...?

For those interested, he kept his ratings after the sim. 33/44

It'll be interesting to see if the current rating moves any in the coming weeks.

I believe he will max out at 34/34 again once his RR and AD reach their pre switch levels.
