Hey,

I've got a big problem. When I try to start FOF I get an error:

Sorry, could not get a license at this time.
Please try running this program later.

This all started after I turned my laptop over to an IT company that's servicing the company I work for, so that they could set up an connection to the work VPN. Now, since its vacation time, apparently the normal guy wasn't in, so some no good, loser was made to do it. He didn't just fail to set up the VPN, but also managed to screw up FOF for me.:banghead:

I'm not totally sure what he did, but I know he unistalled my Zone Alarm (which he at first blamed for his failure to set up the VPN) and instead used the Windows firewall (which I've since turned off) and installed some VPN programs. But he could have done lots of other things that I don't know of.

I contacted the elicense support, but the only suggestion I got back didn't work. Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall, turned of my firewall and anti-virus, all without success. I think that perhaps something is wrong with the elicense, because when I click on the elicense control (in the control panel) it opens up, but is totally empty, like there isn't any game registered.

Any help/suggestion is good!

Try out the solutions in these threads, they may work for you. The first one especially sounds just like your problem:

E-License Issue - Front Office Football Central (http://operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=66883&highlight=elicense+patch)

eLicense Issue - Front Office Football Central (http://operationsports.com/fofc/showthread.php?t=54854&highlight=elicense+patch)

Hope this helps!

Ok, I solved it! somehow! (Atleast its working as I type this!)

I think the solution was this, for the unlikely situation that someone else ends up with exactly the same problem:

I removed the write protection on the windows folder (and all subfolders, programs and files) Now, I'd already tried this with runservice.exe only, but that hadn't worked, so I guess some other file(s) also belongs to elicense. Of course lots of files couldn't be changed, but I just ignored them all. After this FOF worked.

Before that I'd already: uninstalled FOF, used the elicense uninstaller(that was linked in on of those threads above), deleted every sign of elicense in the registry , prayed and after a few reboots, installed FOF again but to a new folder.

Sounds like voodoo to me, but I'm glad it worked, Fluzao. Now get those Texans of yours turned around, will ya? :)

I wish I could blame the team's troubles on the problems I had with running FOF! Ahhaha, but sadly I don't think I can. Next season though, we'll be back!
