The draft is coming up over in the FFL and there is a WR with curious bars among the highest rated prospects:

While rated at 6.6/6.9 and putting up very good combine numbers, the low RR coupled with ST as a pair is troubling. Add to that the solecismic score of 21 and the RR is of even greater concern. I was going to shy away from this guy, but the other WR prospect will be taken first and I'm in dire need of a star receiver. My scout has a "excellent" for receivers and "very good" for young talent and believes that he is underrated which is another reason why I got back after almost closing the book on Palmer.

I haven't seen a star receiver with maxed out bars in every other area except for special teams, a combine as good - on the other hand how many receivers can constantly put up great numbers with a RR below 50 or even worse ? No matter where I look, FFL, other leagues, single player, forum history, hard to find a star receiver without a route running that is at least 70.

To me, it seems like he will be someone who is considered a great "athlete", but not great football player in reality so to speak. He will be outstanding as KR/PR, but not get enough targets because his RR is so low.

What do you think, bigger chance that he will become a bust or is it also possible that he will turn out to be great ?

Without even looking at the combines, I'd bet that RR rating is masked and will turn out to be much higher than the current rating.

He's probably an 85/85+ rated receiver. Take him now and ask quesitons later.

You can't pass him up basically :)

When I take a look at all the 50max Skill Hobos that are my WR corps in my SP game, I'd even draft that guy if the scout had seen him as overrated ;)
Having to draft first around the 20th position for nearly a decade keeps me from even thinking to get a WR of that calibre in the draft..

How sure are you ? Other than being a random bust, you definitely think that he is going to max out at 80+ ?

it looks that he has the textbook case of RR/ST masked pair. If I were you, I will trade all the way up to grab him.

You and everyone else want to pass on him until the 1.13 pick comes up. Tapscott needs a new target.

I would trade to get into that league just so I could draft that guy. Supahstah.

I don't see how you can pass him up. Hey, there are never any guarantees. He could be a random bust, or whatever. But if you are in dire need of a WR, you'd be crazy not to pick him.

How BYU let this Mormon go I will never know.

Only a light yellow in experience and RR is already filled = I'd bet 85/85+ and his RR will likely be in the (conservative estimate) 65-75 range.

What was his rating before that 1st TC?

Of course, his intelligence is low, which is actually a great sign here and could mean his RR was initially underrated.

with that +1 at 1st TC I'd say he'll grow to 80, then drop 3 points at second TC ;)
... and RR might go up to 60-65

My guess for his final RR is 58! :)

Palmer is up to 77/77 after the first game of the regular season, experience at 70, route running 48.

Speaking of the opener, he had 6 catches (8 targets) for 122 yards, 2 TDs on the road against the Bears, arguably the best or second best team in the league. If that wasn't spectacular enough already, he also returned the second punt of his career (first involved an illegal block, not counting preseason either) 76 yards for six points.

Still, he's no Polidixon (http://www.thefofl.com/players/player.php?player=20044)
