Again this game is getting stale to me, great game and all, but was really looking forward to some kind of update to draw my interest back in. We are heading into week 6 and still no kind of roster update or anything. I just do not get it or I just do not understand. As I read posts of MP leagues having problems keeping people, keeps me from joining one. I guess the question is, is pc football games pretty much done? Greydog does not update his website, and who knows how long it will be before Wolverines has one out. Maybe I am just getting too old. I can't play consoles as my fingers do not move as fast as my mind is telling me to. It is just very disapointing, maybe I will go back and find a few guys who want to do the old APBA football on paper stats.

Anyone else feel like this will be the thing of the past soon? just curious.

I believe PC football games are not being developed or updated just to spite you.

I hear you. I'm wondering the same thing.

I bought FoF Fourth Edition a few years back. Nice game, but for me the play diagrams have always been hard to read. I recently downloaded the demo of the current FoF game, and it looks exactly the same as the one I bought in 2002.

Now, I want my text-based sports management sims to remain text based. I'm not one for eye candy. I'm too old for button-mashing console games and anyway, arcade sports games are just not my cup of tea.

But I think that some sort of upgrade to at least the play diagrams is in order. Surely there's a high school or college kid who would gladly draw some new screens for free, in exchange for permission to use that on his or her resume. When you call plays you need to know which hole the runner is going to hit, which receiver is the primary one, what assignments the guys in your secondary have, etc.

I play Grey Dog's Bowl Bound College Football and find it to be really, really enjoyable. It includes a wide range of statistics, which to me is extremely important. The play diagrams on offense and defense are superb.

If somebody would put out a pro football game of equal sophistication I would be overjoyed. My favorite part of sports management sims isn't the winning and losing, it's the development of a team, and the development of careers. I get very immersed in the story the game is telling me. Unfortunately, with a college football game, you only see the players for 4 seasons.

I'm not sure why there is so little interest in the development of football management sims.

There are at least 2 strong baseball management sims--I play OOTP and will probably buy the upcoming Puresim. Wolverine is getting ready to launch the latest version of its pro basketball management sim. I will probably buy it, because I live in Cleveland and, well, we have Lebron AND Shaq. I enjoy Wolverine's college basketball management sim.

I know the market for sports management sims is small compared to the market for arcade sports games. But there is a market. Sadly, there does not seem to be much going on for those of us who like football management sims.
