Did I misinterpret the 6.3a commentary? I thought 6.3a did away with fumbles returned by the offense for touchdowns.

New England: Single-Back formation with trips receivers, strength is left. The defense is in a 34 and 2-deep man-to-man coverage, expecting the run.
2-10-NED47 (3Q: 06:40) Brian Hoyer pass completed to WR Randy Moss for 7 yards. Tackled by OLB Quentin Moses. The ball was fumbled and recovered by NED Wes Welker for 46 yards and a TOUCHDOWN! New England 26, Miami 14

Cheers.

I'd be surprised if it "got rid of them". I always assumed it just dramatically reduced them.

That was the one case I didn't just about eliminate (though a fumble cannot be advanced by the offense in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter). Fumbled completions can still be advanced. Otherwise, the return limit is around a few yards (essentially the ball being kicked around before recovery).
