So my cohesion dropped across the board after one preseason game where I benched my starters. I haven't made that many changes, and in fact my defense returns all 11 starters, but saw no bump up. Any explanation for this? Does it just get updated at strange times? Thanks for any help

Thanks for any helpThe calculation that you see of cohesion is either based on the starters from the most recent game, or perhaps the guys on the field for the last play of the game. I suspect that it's the former. Anyway, I'm pretty sure Jim stated somewhere that the actual calculation happens on each play, based on the 11 guys you have out there, so there's nothing to worry about.

So to just clarify, given that my last game was played with reserves, assuming my starters player week 1 of the regular season, it should go back to 'normal'? Thanks!

The calculation that you see of cohesion is either based on the starters from the most recent game, or perhaps the guys on the field for the last play of the game. I suspect that it's the former. Anyway, I'm pretty sure Jim stated somewhere that the actual calculation happens on each play, based on the 11 guys you have out there, so there's nothing to worry about.More on this, based on an observation just made at IHOF...

1. Offseason, cohesion is not re-calculated. I say that pretty definitively because right now my team is showing 100. Why is that odd, you ask? Oh, because our 15-year starting QB retired this offseason. And that also answers the slight question I had above...

2. The 15-year guy started our final playoff game but came out of it. So clearly it's showing the cohesion of the starters in that game, not the guy who finished it.


I'll update on when that 100 clears out and the real number shows up, but I'm pretty certain it won't be until after we play a preseason game.
