Salary Cap: 115 mil
Cap used next year: 121 mil
Current room: 1.7 mil (2.1 for new player)

We are now in week 17, one game left to play. I have three upcoming FAs of note:

85/85 5th year safety
77/77 10th year DE
53/53 12th year OLB

I also have a 38/38 DE on a 3 year deal whom I can cap out.

The question is, given that we are so late in the year, I'm assuming that cap wise, I'm somewhat screwed, in that re-signing any of these folks for a lower number will only increase my cap by a prorated amount to 1/16th. Is this the case? Thanks for any tips

If you're 6 mil over next year's cap, then you're more screwed than you think.

As to your present situation, I don't know the answer, but you have several weeks to sign these guys, so I suggest you attempt to sign one a week, going from more important to you, to less important. See how far you get.

That only applies for salary - bear in mind the full signing bonus for the year will also hit.

Umm, guess you didn't really read what I wrote.

I actually found a VERY easy way to deal with this. Seems like an exploit though potentially
