Welcome to the Werewolf edition of The Ultimate Fighter. Based on the Spike/UFC reality show of the same name but with a minor twist. Fight to become The Werewolf Ultimate Fighter winner (season one).

During the day there will be two deadlines. The first will be the challenge deadline. The team which wins the challenge will vote on which fighter from the other team they will face in the evenings matchup. In addition they will chose which of their fighters will fight for them. The winning fighter will remain alive for the final tournament. The losing fighter will be out of the tournament but will remain in the game for the team challenges.

The twist is that each team will have a traitor amongst their ranks. They do not want either team to win and will win as a "team" if they can arrange a "team tie" (neither of the teams achieve their winning condition). The traitors will have PM rights between themselves.

Multiple winning conditions will exist. The team winning condition will be to advance the most fighters to the final tournament. Players have an individual winning condition of winning the tournament final. The traitors win by nullifying the team winning conditions (making it a tie), they do not win with either team.

Each player will define thir fighter. See post three for fighter creation details and what is required.

Post two will have the rules/roles.

Post four will be the signup sheet.

Rules

Daily Deadlines

Challenges - 7 PM EST
Fight Votes - 9 PM EST (Can be submitted prior to the challenge deadline)
Fight Strategy - 10 PM EST (Can be submitted as conditional at any time)

Team Threads

- Each team will have their own thread in which to post.
- Players may only enter their team's thread and the main thread.
- Fight matchup votes will be done within the team threads (the other team will not know the matchups until they are announced after the voting period ends at 9 PM EST).
- This thread will be the main thread where all results will be posted.

Challenges

- Each day a challenge will be run between the teams.
- Each team must submit their strategy for the challenge (by reference this will be similar to a dungeon crawl in which the teams will submit how they want to approach the challenge).
- Results of the challenge will be based upon the strategies that are sent in by each team as well as the fighter skills (using stronger fighters for challenges whih require strength may help the team gain an advantage).
- The team which wins the challenge will vote on afighter from the other team which will fight that evening and select a fighter from their camp which will fight. The advantage here will be to select a potentially favorable matchup for the winning team.
- Effort given at a challenge may affect the fighter's stamina for that evening's fight, adding the the advantage the winning team gains by selecting the matchups.

Fights

- The fights will be run at 10 PM EST.
- The winner of the fight will move on to the next round and gain a victory for their team.
- The loser of the fight will remain in the game to participate in challenges and will be part of the undercards during the final tournament (those fights will not affect the winning criteria but are for added atmosphere).

Final Tournament

- The final 8 fighters will fight in a single elimination tournament to determine the overll winner of "season one".
- Traitors will have no affect on the final tournament, though they wil participate if they have made it to the tournament (which means they have won their qualifying bout and therefore were not discovered).

Fight Votes

- The team that wins the challenge may vote on who will be in that evening's fight (from the fghters that have yet to fight).
- They will select a member of the losing team and a member of their team.
- Votes may be case at any point during the the day but only the votes by the winning team will be caculated.
- Votes will be case within the team threads.

Fight Strategies

- Fighters may submit fight strategies at any time during the day through PM (conditional on if they are fighting).
- They should be submitted via PM.
- If no strategy is submitted the default strategy will be used (even percentages for all options if no default was submitted at fighter creation or what was submitted at fighter creation).

Roles

Team Captain - The team captains will be voted on by each team on day one. The team captain will submit the final orders for the team challenges. At any time during the game ateam may decide to change team capatains by voting someone else into that role. Team captains may select another team member to be in charge of submitting the challenge orders for any given day (example: they know that they may not be around but another team member will be; they can give temporary authority to that player to submit that day's orders)

Fighter Bios

Gregor "Avalanche" Strauss
7' 1"
265 lbs.
Born in 1982
Fighting out of Austria

Gregor grew to his amazing size in Austria, earning him the nickname "The Mountain". Too big for most sports, he utilized his size working in the quarries, smashing rock, lugging it. That wasn't exciting enough and so he turned to weightlifting, taking a place on the Austrian Olympic squad.

It wasn't until he turned to fighting that he gained his new nickname. No longer just notable for his size, Gregor was most notable for falling on his opponents like an avalanche. Using his size and strength he likes to beat an opponent down, and has done it to any number until this point. As placid as a mountain, Gregor is well liked by fans.

Mike Jackson
6' 2"
236 lbs.
Born in 1983
Fighting out of Detroit, USA

Born and raised in the poorest neighborhoods in Detroit, Michigan, Mike began boxing at the young age of 8 as a means of self defense and a way to escape the hell-hole that was urban Detroit.

By the age of 17 Mike began to train Kickboxing. While not technically classified as a world class kickboxer he managed to rack up an impressive 14-2-3 professional record(to go with his 32-5-1 amatuer boxing record and 3-0 professional boxing record).

In 2008 Mike began to train MMA after the explosion of global popularity for the sport. As of today his record stands at 5-4. After losing his first three contests, due in no small part to being nearly completely one dimensional, he has since developed good takedown defense and won 5 of his last six fights.

Mike got his big break when Don Spears showed up to scout Dan Jones as a potential FOFC TUF cast member in August. Dan was matched up against Mike, and in that fight Dan was knocked out in just 32 seconds. Following the fight Don offered Mike a spot on the show no questions asked.

"Serious" Shane Willis
6' 3"
237 lbs.
Born in 1979
Fighting out of Australia

Mauricio “Anaconda” Augosto
6' 2"

Hoping to get 16 players as that will tie in perfectly to a schedule. This will be unlike many other games as there is not a true werewolf mechanic and only the "traitor" mechanic.

Additionally everyone will be involved during the entire game. It will also have a set schedule (we will know exactly when the game will begin and end).

If we get the 16 players I am hoping; for the first 8 days (week days) will be the qualifying days which will include challenges. The 9th day will have the quarterfinals and the semi-finals (using the 7 and 10 deadlines). Day 10 will be the finals at 10 and will include a full card of 8 events with the co-main event being the "3rd place match" and main event being the final.

How are you feeling?

Eh. Not great, but good enough to sit at my desk and play Civ 5 and WW. :)

Tomorrow morning I go to the Neurologist to discuss my EEG, and see if I'm clear to finally drive again. I really hope I can because I feel trapped right now. I went to my normal doctor today to talk about my thyroid test, and my gastric emptying test, and I actually gained 2 pounds since last week!! Once I have my thyroid removed, that will seem like nothing. 20-30 more pounds and I'll be happy.

Anyway, wish m luck!!!

EF -- What does the 'control' skill refer to? What is the difference between 'toughness' and 'heart'?

Control is the ability to control your opponent (dictate the fight). From what I see in my testing it seems that toughness is the ability to take damage while heart is the ability to continue longer with damage. Being tough can get you to eat that punch without flinching but having heart can get you to keep fighting even though you have gotten pounded to the point where others would tap.

Two players have not sent the fighter details as of yet. I will name the teams and flesh out the universe a bit more with another exhibition fight (or two) to announce the beginning of the game.

There will be some changes to the game at this point. With there being 10 current players The teams will be 5 and 5 with each team having 3 "CPU" fighters. With 10 players I will remove the traitor roles and add a couple mechanics that will allow for some team versus team "espionage". Additionally the CPU players will only fight other CPU players during the first round. This way the team game will be decided by 5 fights that are human player versus human player (the 3 CPU player fights will not count towards the team totals).

With that said, if we get two more players before the game starts that will put us at 12 human and just 4 CPU. The traitor roles will remain in play at that point as there will be 6 human versus human first round matches.

Tonight at 11 PM the FOFC has signed Chris Leben and Phil Baroni to square off in a 3 round match prior to the announcement of the teams.

Once the teams are announced the day one challege will be announced and the game will begin. Anyone may post in this thread. The team thread may only be used by members of that team (and anyone who is reading along but not involved in the game, just don't tell the teams what the other team is doing for the challenges).

Don Spears re-enters the cage. Clearly pleased by the action which the crowd has seen tonight. Looking determined that the FOFC will offer the same kind of excitement to their fans.

"Wow, what a evening of action. That was just two fights but I promise you that we will see much more action like that. We will be featuring our own crop of fighters as we get this federation on its feet. We start with heavyweights with out Ultimate Fighter competition but we will bring you more, as much as you demand."

"Here is what the teams are waiting for. What will your first challenge be?"

He turns towards the screen. On the screen appears to be a sand pit. In the middle of the sand pit are two barrells. One is red, the other blue. As the camera pans out there seems to be a finish line about 50 yards from the barrells. Between the barrells and the finish line are two obstacles. The first is a 10 foot wide well filled with water, the depth cannot be determined. The second is an 8 foot high fence. Above the fence is a bar which leaves about 3 feet of space between the top of the fence and the bar.

Then you can see that sitting on the ground between the two obstacles are several items. There is a rope, a deflated raft, 2 cubes (1 cubic foot), 2 cubes (8 cubic feet), 2 cubes (27 cubic feet) and 2 poles (11 feet long).

"Those barrells weigh 300 pounds each. The first team to get their barrell across the finish line wins. The winning team will select the first matchup of the competition and gain another advantage, which only they will discover."

"Good luck and Game On!!!"

The challenge for day two will be one of various showdowns.

There will be three competitions.

The first will be a sumo bout. Each team must select one member to participate. The winner of the bout gains one point for their team.

The second will be a simple challenge. Each team is given three items. A rock, a piece of paper and a pair of scissors. They are asked one simple task, to place them in order from 1st to 3rd. The teams will be judged based upon their decisions and scored likewise.

The third will be a competition of stamina. Each team must select two team members. One will stand upright while the other team member will climb onto the first team member so that their feet are not touching the ground. They must climb around that team member without touching the ground. The team that lasts the longest will win. Each team must select at least one player that has yet to fight to participate in this competition (non-CPU). The participants will declare how much energy (on a 1-100 scale with 100 being the most) they want to spend on this challenge. This will affect stamina if they have to fight tomorrow night. The teams may define a strategy but it is up to the fighter to determine how much energy to use. The results will be based upon the fighters abilities and energy spent.

NPC clarification. Those fighters were created randomly and were rolled to be lesser skilled than the human fighters (kind of loses the drama if the NPC's were to dominate). They are not complete pushovers but all player characters should be favorites in a bout against an NPC. They can also be helpful in challenges, but don't expect one to dominate to help your team to victory (unless they get a perfect set of rolls for the whatever competition they are involved in).

The teams are being led to the competition ground, with a few minutes remaining to set strategies.

As you arrive you see three distinct locations. One is a circle on a large mat which you suspect will be sumo ring. Another is two tables with a divider between them. There seems to be three slots on the table, most likey used for the presumed rock, paper, scissors challenge.

Lastly ou see two rooms. They look like interogation rooms with two way mirrors looking into the rooms from the outside. It does not look like those inside the room will be able to see outside of the room. There are 6 chairs set up facing each room with a divider between the sets of chairs (looks like you can only watch one room).

"Gentelmen, welcome to the day two challenge."

"Please place your rock, paper and scissors on thetable with your team name on it."

Each team place their items in slots labeled 1, 2 and 3, but cannot see the other team's. As you step away from the table they are immediately covered.

"Thank you, we will see what you did with those later."

"First up will be the sumo competition. It is one bout, the first participant to knock their opponent out of the ring will win the competition and give their team a 1-0 lead in the challenge."

The teams make their way towards the table. Confident that they know what this challenge will be.

"This is a very simple challenge, the least stressful challenge that you will have."

"What is the name of this game?"

"Let's play that game, in the order that you placed the items..."

Team Autumn

Scissors
Rock
Paper

Team Danny

Scissors
Paper
Rock

Both of the first items cancel each other out. Each team then coers the other's rock with their paper, giving them each a win. Neither team wins this competition.

It is still 1-0 in favor of Team Danny going into the final challenge.

What I didn't expect was that the game would continue after we won the second round. Oh well...

Each team is led to a different set of chairs, Team Danny to one set and Team Autumn to another.

Their participants are called forward.

For Team Danny: Uzzi Radovich and Jason Schmidt step forward.

For Team Autumn: Mike Jackson and Waylon Rodriguez step forward.

Each pair is led around the divider to the other room.

The remaining six for each team will watch their opponents pair and will not find out how their pair did until the competition is over.

What you are watching will be posted in your own team's thread. I'll see you there...

The horn finally sounds. The teams meet back in the main area of the arena. Schmidt and Radovich seem noticably tired. Jackson and Rodriguez look quite fresh, like they had just visited a spa.

After several jokes are made about the competition and how it seemed like some kind of g** p***. The results are announced.

Team Danny wins the competition as they win 2 of the 3 challenges. They get to pick tonight's matchups.

You sit and wait as Radovich and Schmidt enter the room. Schmidt climbs onto Danny as the horn sounds to begin the contest. He starts to circle....

He gets around one time, another, a third...

They continue to go, they look determined to win the competition.

A sixth rotation, a seventh, they are still going strong.

Twenty minutes later they are still going and finally Radovich says something to Schmidt and they stop. They have lasted quite a while and seem relatively tired.

You wait for the horn to end the competition (me posting in the main thread)...

You all sit and wait as Waylon Rodriguez climbs onto Mike Jackson as the horn sounds to start the competition. It will not sound again until both teams are done (when I post in the main thread).

You watch intently as Rodriguez begins to climb around Jackson. But before he even gets around one time Jackson says something to him and he jumps to the ground.

They seem quite happy with their effort. Now you wait for the horn...

Rules clarification. The matchups will be from fighters that have not yet fought. The main signup post is color coded. Green means the fighter was won and moves on to the final tournament. Red means they have fought and lost. If they are neither red nor green they are eligible to fight.

To answer a question about the last challenge. A tie would have meant that each team would select a member of the other team to be in the fight. Team Autumn would have selected the Team Danny member that would be fighting and Team Danny would have selected the Team Autumn member that would be fighting.

EagleFan

Another clarification. I must be losig my mind because I could have sworn that I had posted this but I can't find it now. There are no traitors in the game. With it being 5 on 5 for the team games it could no longer be a tie. Didn;t want the traitors to just be rogue players. I apologize if I didn't make that clear (I honestly thought I had posted that).

Autumn

Here it is for your sanity's sake.

Tomorrow's challenge may be quite physical. There will be one bus tire in the middle of a field the size of a small hockey rink. There will be 4 rounds. Each round the teams will send two players to atempt to get the tire across their goal line to score for their team.

If the game is tied after the 4 rounds neither team wins the advantage but each team will vote on that evening's match. They will each select the fighter from the other team which will fight. If there is a winning team, that team selects the matchup. In addition, each fighter from the winning team will gain 1 skill point which they can add to one of their skills.

Every fighter must participate (no one will go twice).

Each fighter must determine how much effort they will give (a 1 to 100 scale). Results will be based upon strength, conditioning, agility, heart and effort given.

Each pair may submit a strategy as well. They can either be:
aggressive - try to win it quick
mixed - look for an opening but be less aggressive
passive - lay back and try to get the other team to tire before going for the win

I would like to request a rule change that the team captain is able to submit an effort % for each player and that then that player is able to change the effort by PM if they choose to. That way we can strategize around a person not showing up and sending a PM by 7, but that they can still change it by PM if they do show up and don't like what they see.

EagleFan
10-08-2010, 04:46 PM
That is acceptable for players that don't submit. If a player submits the captain can't override what the player submitted.

Not directly game related but I will be starting an interactive dynasty for the Front Office Fighting Championship over the weekend.

Now for the game related portion, the winner of this competition will be crowned the heavyweight champion and and be carried over to the dynasty.

Mention of the other fighters from this thread will be in there as well (and any of you that want your fighter to be active in that dynasty let me know, all are welcomed).

I plan on having at least one "show" each weekend and one during the week. With a Main Event type of "PPV" once a month.

I will flesh out other weight divisions over the weekend.

I'm all over this dynasty. Will there be other Ultimate Fighter seasons?

Just an idea, but since I saw that you are going to allow one fighter per division I'm going to assume you are going to have fictional fighters controlled by you as well. Maybe let people participate in other seasons(if you plan on doing this) and then after the fact give them the choice of either controlling their new character or their old one and you can take over the fighter they no longer want.

I'm also going to PM you with something I would prefer to keep private.

Yes, hoping to have other seasons if this goes over well enough. Thinking about the idea as well (allowing them to enter a new fighter into the TUF season but have to give up their current one in that division).

The teams are gathering in the field and making last minute preparations for their final challenge. Which team will gain the advantage? Which team will claim the title of FOFC Ultimate Fighter: Season One Team Champions?

Just a few minutes left to discuss strategy.

First up, an event which requires agility, aggressiveness, control and condtioning.. the 100 meters.

The two men line up.

Ready!!!

Set!!!

Go!!!

EagleFan
10-11-2010, 06:13 PM
Both men get a quick start. After the first 25 meters it is neck and neck. Then Raiders Army begins to slowly adge ahead. After 50 meters Raiders Army is about a meter in front.

At 75 meters he has pulle far enough ahead that this is no longer in doubt. He coasts to victory for Team Autumn.

The next event is one that requires strength, size and heart.... the shotput.

Autumn steps up for his team. Team Danny looks around and picks out DaddyTorgo. They do not look like they prepared for this competition as well as Team Autumn had, maybe that is their strategy- to get Team Autumn overconfident.

EagleFan
10-11-2010, 06:21 PM
Each will get two throws. DaddyTorgo steps up first.

He sets himself, throws.... and gets good distance. It looks to be about 50 feet.

Autumn steps up for his first throw. He prepares and throws....

but he fouls.

It went about 55 feet but will not count.

dubb93

This one should be money in the bag. Autumn is massive.

EagleFan

This one isn't looking so hot for us.

EagleFan
10-11-2010, 06:27 PM
Chief Rum starts it out.

He prepares mentally. Takes a breath and he is off, sprinting down the approach. He jumps....

Dirt kicks up from the landing area and they measure...

18 feet, 6 inches

EagleFan
10-11-2010, 06:29 PM
Darth Vilus begins immediately down the approach once the clear signal is given. He flies through the air with amazing dexterity and lands at...

18 feet

4 inches

Good, but Chief Rum still has the mark to beat.

EagleFan
10-11-2010, 06:31 PM
Chief Rum will take his second run at it. He prepares himself again and then launches himself down the approach. He reaches speeds that may have been better suited for the 100 meters.

He jumps, and flies through the air to land at...

19 feet

4 inches

Very nice second jump.

EagleFan
10-11-2010, 06:33 PM
Darth Vilus has one chance to win it for his team, or they move to the next event.

This time he waits, prepares, inhales... takes a peak towards Team Danny... smirks.... and is off....

He seems to have found a gear that he didn't have for his first jump.

He jumps...

EagleFan
10-11-2010, 06:34 PM
He lands at...

19 feet...

8 inches...

Team Autumn has won the event.... but wait....

Team Danny is protesting!

They say that Darth Vilus had crossed the line before jumping, that it should be a foul.

The judges gather to discuss it...

dubb93
10-11-2010, 06:34 PM
....and lands on his face?

dubb93
10-11-2010, 06:35 PM
Bullshit. We won this fair and square.

EagleFan
10-11-2010, 06:35 PM
