question about coaches

What is the difference between the coordinators and the head coach? who calls the plays? i ask as im never sure what to look for when hiring and firing

Head Coach calls the plays. Coordinators are for development.

To add to that, the injury avoidance/motivation/discipline and stuff of coordinators also are irrelevant, I believe.
