AI Shortens Long Contracts?

so, ive seen this a couple times in sp, but never thought much of it. just happened to me again in mp, was wondering if its a bug or not


i offered a 7 year contract to an ufa. 42m to sign, 8.5m a year, 14.5m cap hit. however, the game arbitrarily (i think, anyway) took off the 7th year when he signed. so i still paid the same bonus, spread a year less, and got a 1m bigger cap hit. not a huge deal, but not sure why it happens, either. (7 yr/101.5m vs 6 yr/93m)

is this a bug? designed? anyone else seen it?

I am the commish of this league, and just went back to do some digging, and I'm not sure what to think. All indications are that he offered 7 years but the contract is showing up six. I revert, re-import, then log in as Pittsburgh so I can see the offer, and sure enough, in one place it says 7 years, but the contract six. Screenie in next post.

does it only happen to ufa? i believe you renegotiated your qb to a 7 yr deal and all 7 years took...or maybe its not even all ufa? i guess some testing is in order (i might have time eventually)

what happens now? does this get forwarded to jim and we hope make the list of a future patch?

What's strange about this is that everything on the screen corresponds to a 6 year offer, except what's in the other offers window. Any chance that you could have submitted a 7 year offer one stage and then accidentally superceded it with a 6 yr offer in a later stage (by clicking) on submit offer from this screen instead of cancel?

no, the week before, i had a 2 year, $50m deal that the QB was still sitting on.
