Forward: What if on May 23, 1999 at the WWF PPV event Over The Edge Owen Hart, performing as the Blue Blazer, didn't fall to his death. What if, on May 23, 1999 Owen Hart defeated The Godfather as planned and won the WWF Intercontinental Title. Where would he have gone and what would the wrestling world look like today? Many predicted he was in line to become a future WWF Wold Heavyweight Champion...here's my attempt to see what might have been.....What if....

My name is Tristen Rockfield III Esq. and today is June 1, 1999. It's my first day on the job as the new head booker of the World Wrestling Federation. The biggest and most successful professional wrestling company in the world. I've been brought in because a little company from Atlanta, GA called World Championship Wrestling, WCW, has been knocking on our door for the last 3 years and was beating us in the ratings, we're regained control....now it's time to deliver the knock out punch. WCW is in a big decline and on it's way down and fast. Just two months ago we started our second show Smackdown! to compete with WCW's Thunder show.

At our last PPV Over The Edge we crowned two new champions; Owen Hart, the last of the famous Hart family in the WWF, became the new IC Champion and The Undertaker defeated Stone Cold Steve Austin to become the new WWF World Heavyweight Champion.

I get a good look at who we have on the roster and it breaks down like this.

Main Eventer
Jeff Jarrett
Kane
Ken Shamrock
Mankind
Owen Hart
Steve Austin
The Rock
The Undertaker
Triple H

Not a bad group to headline my shows. Jarrett, Kane and Shamrock are probally a little high, but I might not have anyone else ready to elevate yet either.

Upper Midcarder
Big Boss Man
Billy Gunn
Bradshaw
Faarooq
Goldust
Road Dogg
Test
The Godfather
X-Pac

Kinda what I thought. A pretty big drop from the Main Event to these guys and really no one I'd consider moving up any time soon.

Midcarder
Al Snow
Brian Christopher
Christian
D'Lo Brown
Edge
Gangrel
Mabel
Mark Henry
Mosh
Scotty Too Hotty
Steve Blackman
Thrasher
Val Venis

This group has a mix of guys who can go either way up or down. A few even might make it to Main Event status somewhere down the road, but right now it seems filled with tag team workers.

Lower Midcarder
Dennis Knight
Droz
Gillberg
Jeff Hardy
Matt Hardy
Tiger Ali Singh
Mike Barton

The Hardys are the only ones that might have promise here, but they are still green and young. The rest are fodder for the higher up workers.

Opener
Bob Holly
Scorpio
Sho Funaki
Taka Michinoku
The Blue Meanie

All of these guys have the potential to move up....if some things go right along the way.

Enhancement Talent
Dick Togo
Essa Rios
Men's Teioh

I really like Rios and think he'd make a great cruiserweight champion, the other two might be on their way out as their contracts are alreaady up.

Occasional Wresler
Giant Silva
Golga
Kurrgan

ahh the Oddities, or what's left of them at this point. Might as well be Jobberville USA. All three are up for contract renewals and I really have no use for them. Do I resign them and send the two big guys to developmental and repackage Golga as Earthquake again or just save myself the headache and let them all go? Decisions, decisions.

Women's Division
Chyna
Ivory
Jacqueline
Luna Vachon
Terri
Tori

This will be the first casualty of my reign. Don't care for the women and I will be disbanding this as my first executive decision as head booker. If they don't want to be managers / eye candy I'll cut them loose pronto.

Misc - Includes Announcers, Refs, Managers, etc.
Michael Cole
Howard Finkle
Shane McMahon
Shawn Michaels
Jerry Lawler
Jim Cornette
Vince McMahon
Debra
Paul Bearer
Ryan Shamrock
Sable
Jim Ross
Steven REgal
Earl Hebner
Mike Chioda
Teddy Long
Tim White
Yamaguchi-san
Brooklyn Brawler
Gerald Brisco
Jack Lanza
Pat Patterson
Sgt. Slaughter
Vince Russo
