I've read best WR should go to FL #1 in depth chart.

But I'm thinking that when you have only 1 excellent WR with super endurance, 2 Good WRs and no one else of account, the excellent WR might serve well at SE.

One of the good WRs needs to be at FL 2 for the three receiver sets. If the super high endurance WR goes in at FL 1, FL 2 won't see any other action, but the weak back up at SE 2 will. So I put in the other good WR at FL 1, and leave the high endurance WR to handle SE 1 full time.

Does this make sense, or am I foolish to not have the best player in FL 1 on the depth chart?

I don't know of any difference between FL and SE when they are both on the field at the same time.

What you should consider is the formation subs. By default, in 2-TE formations (aside from Single-2TE), the only WR on the field is the FL.

You can juggle the depth however you want, I think, because you can just easily put SE2 as the slot guy in 3WR sets. Sometimes I'll get creative, and list my top two starters as FL1 and FL2 in the depth chart, and then slot FL2 as the SE in every single formation sub screen.

The FL1 will in most formations get more targets. For each formation there are x number of plays. Each play will have a primary / secondary WR. This is a good summation of how many times each position is option 1 or 2 based on a given formation (this chart is GOLD if you have two stud TE or a good FB).

I don't think the simulation uses that play chart, though. I started investigating it at one point and started with the screen passes. And found there aren't any TE/WR screen pass plays in the play chart, but TEs and WRs are the targets of screen passes in simulation.

So, I'm not sure how reliable that is.
