In IHOF, I have a team where the population in drying up (2 mil and losing population), I'm the 31st ranked franchise, I get 40% stadium capacity.

Over the long-term, isn't it best to move to a new city? The stadium is pretty good...but nobody is going to the games.

I could move the club to New York or Texas or even Arizona/Seattle...where the populations are booming and people should fill up the stadium.

It's a strategically good move in RL, but will FOF recognize my efforts by rewarding me with a full stadium?

LOL.

Dutch I don't know much about this. I just know Ben's guide and how it talks about how it's never good to build a new stadium, only to reno. However that doesn't totally cover moving cities.

I think it takes time to build up loyalty, with good performances. But the financials of the city sound like when you eventually do have that loyalty, you'll be able to get much more out of it than dwindling West Bumville.

You'll probably get a crap stadium at first, but that can be renovated. The financials of this game though are such that, whatever you do, you don't really get punished for it, insofar as the worst that can happen is you can't be competitive in coach hiring for a while.

heh, thanks. I have the option of building a stadium and moving...but to me, that's probably a 1% chance of success...which sucks in MP mode, but oh well. I'll give it a go.

It just takes so long to build up a following in a new city. It might very well make the most long-term sense but . . .

I haven't tested it but my opinion is to move if you are only getting a few thousand fans and nothing helps. I know people say it can be worse, but I still think I would risk it if it was my decision

Sawblade once did a whole year with zero fans in his 8 home games during an AUFL season

I had an average attendance of 3000 with ticket prices at $1.

Moving doesn't help really from my experiences but..

In your situation, I don't see any negative to giving it a shot. It can't get much worse than it is for you right now, right?

I submitted a move request with 50,000 seats, 10,000 upgraded seats, and 300 luxury suites in a town begging for a new team and 11 million pop and rising and fit 50% of the bill of a $1.4B stadium.

Chances of success? I feel like with everything looking right, I can't help but get this weird feeling that the FOF game mechanics are wonky enough where this is a 0% success rate. Like there is some RL common GM knowledge why this would never work. It could really use some clarification in the documentation.

I'd always advice to drive the renovation to max-stadium through the nose of the fans, and after that step by step increase ticket prices. When I made that improvement (from a 80K to 99.9K), I got an attendance jump from 71K to 97K. But the most important part was getting the max luxury boxes figure (399), which jumped the income in suite revenue up from 50M to 236M.
