I've seen some posts about people using FOF on the iPad with remote desktop applications. I'm just curious how the experience is? Secondly, would it work equally as well on an iPad Mini or would that be too small. I'm looking to pick up one or the other but am hoping to be able to use it for FOF7. I'd probably prefer the Mini but how well FOF plays on it could be the difference maker.

I personally don't like those remote desktop apps...each program runs differently and I never got some of my wargames to play well with the touch controls. I have a Windows tablet that I run OOTP, FM 2013, and a few wargames....this will be added to those very soon!

LogMeInPro works pretty well I've had a lot of success using it. But using it with your finger is sort of irritating and it works far better with a mouse.

Splashtop is a great app that I've used to control the system and works pretty well for FOF. It has several gestures and modes that can be used depending on your preference.

On LogMeIn... I don't recall what the differences are between their free service and their paid service (LogMeInPro?) but if all you want is desktop access via your remote app, the only cost you ever need to pay them is the price of the app ($20 I think). They offer a subscription service after that, but I have never paid another dime past the initial app, and it works just fine.
As I've mentioned elsewhere - I use LogMeIn, I find it manageable, but not great. If I' away and have a stage of a MP league to tend to, it's just fine for that. I have played more routine FOF sessions via LogMeIn on a full-screen iPad, but there are things that get a little tedious (precision with clicking, entering numerals) so I wouldn't do that for long if I could avoid it.
My guess is that trying it on a mini would accentuate the tedium with precision actions - and in FOF, there are a fair number (clicking on the right name on a roster page, for instance - you need to do that quite a lot).
