After a dozen attempts to get the game to load, still no avail. (Windows 7 Ultimate.)

I have tried the following,

1. Uninstalling and reinstalling several different times.

2. Uninstalling all of my security software

3. Running in compatibility mode.

4. Running as administrator.

According to my task manager, the program runs for ten minutes then shuts down. I never see anything on the screen. Just the circular load symbol

The only hint of a clue that I get is sometimes I get a message about not finding the license. I have a couple of theories.

First, this is the demo version. Perhaps I have been trying to start it so much that the have used up my requisite number of starts. No matter what adjustments I make, it will never work until I buy it.

If I go on a leap of faith and purchase this product, will I be able to get a refund if I can never get it to work?

I was a huge fan of 2007, but I feel I have invested enough time with this product. Any ideas would be helpful before I move on and hope to find a substitute.

Thanks so much

Jo

You get 4 starts of the game with the trial version. If you've tried a dozen times, I'm guessing you've been getting locked out by the elicense system at this point. It sounded like you were having issues with AVG in your early attempts to play the game. I can confirm that the game loads fine if you temporarily disable AVG and others have had success by simply updating AVG.

I think you probably had an AVG issue the first few times you tried to open, and by the time you worked that out you exhausted your trial starts. I know I'm having a great time with the game and would recommend purchase, but it's probably a bit of a leap of faith for you at this point.

i'm fairly sure the "four starts" counter only goes down if you actually get past the elicense screen.

Jop, does any screen pop up when you click on the FOF7 shortcut? The first thing you should see if a window that pops up asking you to license or play the trial version. If he isn't getting to that screen he should still have all four sessions, though his "days left" counter will still go down, probably.

For the record, I have AVG fully updated even before I installed the game and everything worked fine. I did have problems licensing my copy through my firewall, even after turning it off (as well as AVG), but I was able to do the offline licensing method.

But there seems to be a conflict somewhere on your end (and I say that loosely cause it's more on the game's end).

As always, I appreciate everyone who responds to these posts.

Nothing actually pops up. If I take compatibility mode all the way back to Windows 95. A message about the elicense comes up. That is the only scenario where I get a message at all.

Every way I have tried to open it has resulted nothing popping up at all. It's as if the program is not there. ( Yes, I went straight to the program, not the shortcut.)

I had a problem (on Windows 8) where when I tried to run the program, nothing would pop up. Sounds like it's similar to your issue. I fixed it by making sure the .exe (in C:\Program Files (x86)\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football Seven) was set as Run as Administrator as opposed to having the shortcut Run as Administrator. I see you tried running as admin but maybe this can help the next guy.

If you have another machine (laptop?) try doing it there.
I don't know if you can on Windows 8, but maybe right click the main .exe, go to properties and try running it in "compatibility mode" and choose Windows 7.
