Design Contest
Did you ever wish you could change the design of your favorite game? We challenged the Front Office Football community to submit their designs to replace several graphics within Front Office Football Seven. And they responded with several excellent designs.
We're pleased to congratulate George Ciervo, Cyril Chong and Seiji Nokamura for their winning entries. They will split the $400 in prize money and their work will be featured in the first update for Front Office Football Seven, which should be released in the next week.

I am really excited to implement these graphics. I do want to apologize for the delay in getting these into the product. Everything's done. We've had some difficulties with the demo in that the code which is supposed to only run when someone is trying to hack the demo into a full version is being hit under ordinary conditions. We've also had some reports of the game not running at all, and this not being easily fixed with an obvious adjustment to an anti-virus tool.
Since these problems greatly affect the perception of the game to those who run into them, I want until they are addressed to make the big graphics update.
Now, for the vast majority of you, this isn't a big deal. In terms of bug-fixing, this is the smallest "patch" I've ever made. All the extra work paid off here. And the beta test group was very effective.
But for those of you in multi-player leagues carrying over from FOF2007 who are in the End Season phase and want to convert, this is an unexpected delay. I had hoped to have the conversions done right at the turn of the year. The converter is ready. It works. But it requires one of the fixes in the patch to load the converted saved game.
I don't want to back out the new graphics from the code base (implementing them required some programming as well as simply adding the graphics to the executable). That's a lot of extra work that carries some risk. So, I apologize for the delay.
If commissioners who are familiar with hex editing want to contact me, I would be willing to run the converter for them and give them the instructions needed to bypass that fix in the patch. But this would require them to also perform minor hex editing for all their team owners. It would be a way to get them moving because honestly, I have no idea when the licensing issues will be resolved. It could be tomorrow. It could be another week. I'm not happy about this at all.
Thanks a lot for the update Jim.
