Amusing just how many people went Koufax/Maddux.
Lotta love for Maddux with 6 teams. Our top picks with 7 teams each were Pujols and the roid twins A-Rod and Bonds. See, even you guys will compromise principal to win ;)
I will finish getting setup today and hopefully get the opening series in tonight, tomorrow at the latest.

My team doesn't really have a strategy, I just tried going more for offense than pitching. Loved Maddux so I had to get him instead of the $1 guy. Even though I don't like the Yankees, I wanted the middle of my lineup to be the Yankees guys. Then just filled out the rest with little analysis done.
Really thought hard about getting Cobb or Henderson, maybe trying to do some sort of speed and defense team. But ended up with what I have now instead.
Picked the Rogers Centre just because that's the Toronto stadium. Not sure if it fits my team or what.

I feel like our squad is very balanced. I considered going with a lineup featuring Bonds at the lead off spot to maximize his plate appearances, but ultimately decided he'd have a better chance at RBI's in the 3 spot with Pujols as solid protection. I just hope Rickey gets on base and Dimaggio strings together a streak.

There are definitely some murder's row middle orders in here, but I have to admit the lineup that intrigues me is Tarcones. Too pretty solid $3 pitchers and a lot of speed and defense in that starting 8. It will be interesting to see how that stacks up against some of the Earl Weaver builds :)

I think we are going to be tough. We've spent more money on pitching than any other team, but at this level there isn't a whole lot to separate 1 from 5.
Our lineup lacks in the defense department. But I'm hoping to lean heavily on the pitching to make up for it.
Our order goes r/l/r and so on right down the line and Mantle sits right in the middle as a switch.
Looking to get guys on base any way possible add some power and hope that a pitching heavy park plays to my advantage.

Due to 2 other dynasties going and my desire to start a FM14 dynasty, I simmed the season to settle the argument and determine the winner of the Steve Garvey baseball :)
Surprisingly the team built the most as an "old school" team pulled it off as Tarcone and his Tigerhawks took it be 2 games over the Bullet Proof Vests who made a big push going 8-2 over their final 10 games.
In addition to the standings below I will post lead leaders and team summaries, if you want to know detail about a specific player let me know. (Tarcone, PM me your address and I will get your ball in the mail to you next week, congrats)

With a league BA well over .300 hitters obviously got the best of the pitchers in this sim. Interesting that Larry's group led the league in home runs and were second in BA, but lacked a running game and obviously pitching.
