This guy is 625s across the board. Combine Accuracy = 50.

EDIT: To be clear for those who don't know what "625s across the board" means, this player is very close to 100/100 overall, definitely at least 80ish for every single bar.

Is that FOF's version of Tom Brady then?

So what would be the tells that those in the know would see and make this a guy who would be 1.1 rather than someone like me who would be none the wiser?

I think that's the point, nobody would know about that guy.
I'm assuming Ben knows because it's a custom draft file he created.

Aha. Wasn't too sure to read it like that, or 'look at x, y or z' as there are some very high scores in personality, intelligence, Sol & Pos despite the no combine, and 0 vol.

Those bars combined with "Impression: Very Overrated" jump out at me... what are your HC/OC's scouting/Young Talent bars?
(Btw, is College Stats something added in for people who import draft files from TCY?)

I'm assuming Ben knows because it's a custom draft file he created.Correct. Created a file with 1,000 625-rated QBs to look at some things. This guy looked the worst of the batch.

So...what does this tell us about the so-called static bars, like sense rush? He appears to be about 50 there...once he lands on your roster do we believe that suddenly transforms into 80 or 90?
Ben E Lou

From playing around with importing draft classes, SR in particular is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy less static and deterministic than in the past. I suspect that it will jump up in TC1.
Or with the way scouting works, maybe it's just poor scouts and it'll get up to maybe 60 and never get any higher.

Have you played him out a couple seasons to see where he ends up?
I know that's tough with a full class of QB's when testing.

Does that apply to all static bars, or just SR?

holy shit. I would have looked at that VO and said yeah he looks VO. You just ruined my world with that static bar inaccuracy. How is your staff rated for scouting?

Those bars combined with "Impression: Very Overrated" jump out at me... what are your HC/OC's scouting/Young Talent bars?
(Btw, is College Stats something added in for people who import draft files from TCY?)I don't have a savegame of that test career any longer to know exactly, but the general answer is that they weren't particularly good. I started a second test career where I equalized finances and then cut everyone on the team I was running who was making more than around $2M in salary, then ran season run. Getting rid of the salaries allowed that team to finish #2 in finances. I then went after staff who were great at interviewing and scouting. I landed guys as follows:
HC: 89 scouting, 65 interviewing
OC: 84 scouting, 99 interviewing
DC: 65 scouting, 88 interviewing
AC: 63 scouting, 71 interviewing
(Most of these guys suck at everything else. For the purposes of this testing, my only interest was in those two categories.)
Some observations:
1. Not surprisingly at all, there are fewer guys in the class of all 625s with bad-looking bars. I just re-imported to take a look for this post and the lowest grade/adjusted grade guy is 3.1/3.5, and his bars don't look all that bad:
http://www.fof-ihof.com/upload/Ben%20E%20Lou/bwilliams_625.png
I'm certain that with mediocre or bad scouting, this guy looks more like Robert Madsen.
2. As with Brandon Williams, interviews are *significantly* more accurate with this staff. I just interviewed the bottom 12 guys in the draft class by grade/adjusted. They also have (roughly) the worst bars and combines of the group. (But again, we know that they are all mega-teh-awesome studs.) The interview results: 9 VU, 2 HTR, 1 UR. I didn't record any results when I was using the other set of staff members, but as you can see above, the bad scouts even turned up a VO. And just out of further curiosity while typing this, I re-imported a couple more times and interviewed the bottom 12 guys. Not a single OR or VO in 36 total interviews.
One thing that's worth noting, though, is that we're talking about 1 player out of a draft class of 1,000 stud QBs that looks like Madsen. And a QB like that only comes along maybe once every 10-15 seasons in FOF7, it seems. So in reality, odds are that you will only have an extreme case like Madsen once every 10,000 seasons or so. I wouldn't get too worked up about it. ;)
Have you played him out a couple seasons to see where he ends up?
I know that's tough with a full class of QB's when testing.No. I was getting a crash at TC. Maybe because of a 224-QB draft, or maybe because one of the other 16 position groups wasn't replenished enough in the all-QB draft.
Does that apply to all static bars, or just SR?I can't say "all" yet, but definitely "some." Here's an all-625 TE. Note his 50ish BPR and BlkStr:
http://www.fof-ihof.com/upload/Ben%20E%20Lou/agonalez_625s.png
How do you create a custom draft class?Use the draft file creator. There's a text file in this folder called dcsv.txt with instructions: C:\Program Files (x86)\Solecismic Software\Front Office Football Seven\datafile
(If you installed somewhere else, then look in the appropriate directory structure.)
holy shit. I would have looked at that VO and said yeah he looks VO. You just ruined my world with that static bar inaccuracy. How is your staff rated for scouting?See above. It wasn't great. But notice the low Sense Rush on Brandon Williams with a better scouting staff than most people will ever be able to get in a MP league. SR simply isn't the indicator that it was in FOF2K7.

We'll see what happens in Pre2.
My scouts have him at 24/68. League scouts have him at 14/45 in Pre1....

So Sense Rush is ranging from 42.4 to 59.5 on average in the class--pretty much exactly what you'd expect for a randomly-generated bar with a targeted average of 50. The same is true for all of the newer bars.

Oh, and I'm not sure about the TCY license. I had a HD replacement in November and didn't bother removing my TCY license beforehand. It's only $12.95 now, so I just bought it again on Tuesday before running the tests to be safe. Ain't nobody got time to bother waiting on Viatech. *shurg*

Yes, I'm aware of that. But to my knowledge it has never been tested apart from JG. To me it was worth a few bucks to be 100% sure that I am avoiding any issues there.

After installing TCY how easy is it to create custom draft classes? Will FOF7 just let you import 1000 QB's as the whole draft class?

Small sample size and all, but is intelligence actually meaningful now? Or did all the players receive a 625 in intelligence when creating the draft file?

Intelligence was an entered column (at least in the old draft csv format). I varied it in increments of ten for the tests I ran. So it was like 90 guys at 0, 90 guys at 10, 90 guys at 20, etc.

So we're saying that sense rush is now a randomly-generated bar that is not necessarily tied to or indicative of the player's actual rating?

No, we're saying that when you create a custom draft class of players, Sense Rush isn't one of the values you can set. So a big "never mind" :D
Although, maybe not. I definitely remember BPR being a bar that you *can* set. That's still true, right, Ben? So this "100 BPR" guy is interesting:

In the GML I took this guy at the end of the 2nd: GML Front Office Football Conscriptor version 2.5.3 (http://www.fof-gml.com/draft/show_player.php?in_game_id=12256)
I drafted him solely on his combines and the lack of any 0's.
Here he is now after moving to CB and after TC:
RCB Brendan Samuels Player Details (http://fof-gml.com/playercard.php?playerid=12256)
I'm interested to see if he jumps up or down next years.
(Sorry for lack of pics, on phone.)
