How to edit the players/teams/schedules etc.

I'm new to this game, but im wanting to update the teams and players to the 2015 league. i looked in the data folder and noticed alot of FDT files, so im assuming those are what to edit. i just dont know what to use to edit them because they're encrypted it looks like. Does anyone know how to do this?
