High intelligence

Ok, we have an answer to the QB/low intelligence mystery.

But what positions benefited from high intelligence?

All positions benefit broadly from high intelligence, in ways that most people don't consider very important. They're more likely to become mentors sooner, and maybe something about development speed (I don't know how much difference). Maybe some other ancillary benefits.

Low intelligence isn't a direct benefit, either. It's more of an indicator. Combines are indicators (subject to dice roll) of how good a player is, and intelligence is a modifier of the Sole combine. It's important to note that for very low or very high soles, intelligence is unlikely to have a strong moderating effect on the Sole.

okay perhaps too cryptic, and, so as not to be misread, Jim has indicated in the past that intelligence may play a larger role in FOF8. More than that I don't know.

...In general, or are you talking about the intelligence rating for coaches and staff, which currently play zero role in the game but may in the future?

...In general, or are you talking about the intelligence rating for coaches and staff, which currently play zero role in the game but may in the future?Coaches are rated for their ability to develop players as well as their ability to develop young players. They are rated for their ability to motivate players, which is valuable only for head coaches during a game. They are rated for discipline, which is valuable only for head coaches and affects a team's propensity to commit penalties. They are rated for play calling, which is valuable only for offensive and defensive coordinators. They are rated for interviewing ability, which affects the accuracy of information gleaned from scouting combine interviews. They are rated for scouting, which affects the accuracy of scouting players. Intelligence is displayed, but is part of a series of attributes that will be used in future development of Front Office Football. That doesn't sound like "may"...
