Hello!
I've never really been a person who cares much about UI but recently I've been bugged by how long it takes me to search for players like free agents for the right stuff. I have to pull down a position or position group in one set, and then search for the right bar skill for something else, if I want anything more than current or future sorting. And I can't combine things.
So I was trying to think of a way to speed it up and make it more user friendly. What if we just had the one drop down box for positions and groups like now. And then a bunch of skills show up, and I can click the ones I want to use to sort by, and it gives me the average of those skills. I can click another button if I want the future version of those skills, with the default to current. If I don't click any skills, the default is the same as now - the current overall rating of folks.
This lets me find a skill like punt returning or pass rush strength pretty quickly. If I can click multiple skills, and the game does the math behind me and gives me an average score, then I can sort and find much more quickly for groups.
For example, I am looking for a WLB replacement right now on a cap-strapped team in my dynasty. I would love to be able to search for the best current free agent LB that have both pass rush strength and pass rush technique. That would be nice. If I need a run stopping DT, I can search for Run D and Punishing Hitter. I can find the best punt and kick returner. Maybe I want a scat RB so I want to find someone that combines breakaway speed, speed to outside and elusiveness. Perhaps I need a possession WR to go with my speedy guy and I am looking for someone to move the sticks who has route running, avoid drops, and 3rd down catching.
Anyways, that's what I like to see with the UI. Move to a quick and simple system that allows me to get a better way to sort players, and a better way to get some added depth.
What sort of UI changes would you make if you could?
