Version 7.2 Released

The 7.2 update replaces the default rosters with 2015 rosters. It also replaces the coach file and the schedule. There are two small changes in the game itself. Extra points are now 33-yard kicks. And the game's routine for running the scouting combine was changed to make it more difficult for experienced players to easily identify good players. This change is activated only if the person simulating the draft has the global setting for combine accuracy below 50. If this value is at the default of 50 or higher, no change was made. In addition, if the accuracy is below 40, a second change was made that removes all traces of the problem..

I wish the change would have just been made at the default level, though. Now it's really unclear to me what we should do if we want to get on board with the current version. 49? 48? 40? 39? 0?

I take "problem" as code that the silly system of threshold constraints and such wasn't really intended to be the pot of gold it became- and from the developer's point of view it's been altered to be harder to seek out.

Really a bigger change than we had a right to hope for here, I feel.

I haven't played in a league with the setting below 50 but I'm wondering now if having the setting at 50 would be easier than something below 40?

Well, I've gotten to the point where I can enter the career as a participant, but I keep getting an error about my password not being correct. This is not the case because I can login under this test account showing the password show, just the game doesn't seem to like it.

Personally, I think it's something wrong with the base directory...but the game's instructions are a bit vague in regards to how that should be laid out. This is just a test login/password to show as an example:

I've tried without the http, without the www., (http://www.,) etc. Not sure what the issue is here...

Hey Mike, you should probably take down that image as it contains FTP login details for your league.

I think there's an issue with the base directory. Try it empty, and configure the FTP account to login directly to that directory (it should only have permissions for the one directory, anyway).

Oh, and I fixed the issue: I forgot that the username needed to be the entire email.

Specific bare minimum scores that are basically a "tell" that a player will not become anything more than roster filler. For instance, a QB with a bench press of 9 has a .003% of ever being rated 50/50 and a bench press of 10 goes up to 3%.

Basically, each position has built in cliffs that would sabotage players. This was discovered by guys like MalcPow and Ben.

With the constraints gone, it would be cool if we could get more interviews or just make the 12 we do get reliable ones. Its great if the draft is no longer predictable, but hopefully there is still something that keeps it from being a total crap shoot.

Are the rosters and coach file up to date? The ViaTech version I installed looks like 2014 rosters.

Update: Nevermind, I reinstalled a couple times and now it works. :)

I was under the impression that the interviews are in the 80-95% reliable stage (depending on interview strength) and much more meaningful than when we had 60.

I've never really studied it, but I'll pay more attention and see if I fall in the same boat.

It's a relatively small sample size (I don't have the time the do heavy testing anymore) but since I started paying attention to it more, it's been pretty successful to take those interviews seriously.

If you're on steam, you just exit the game and a window should pop up when you try to launch the game.

And if you're not on Steam, no need to uninstall. Just download the current FOF7 install file from the Solecismic site and install over it.
