Just coming back to the game from about a 2 month break... Does the current draft analyzer stil apply to the changes made in 7.2? IF not is there an updated version of the DA ?

Hey chris, welcome back. I'd say as a tool to scroll through players and view their combine details, etc, it's totally fine. As a tool that provides useful D?, G, VG, etc numbers, probably not, unless the league combine setting remains at 50. That, by the way, will hopefully change in the future, but there's nothing new currently that I know of.

OK so is there an updated way of getting good results in the s,g,vg catagories?

So am i good to use the DA for the first few rounds and then start looking at bars+DA for the later rounds?
Am i gathering form all these posts that poor combines with very good bars can still amount to VG players at times.... obvious luck is involved a bit

Can someone explain in "layman's" terms what changed within the game that would minimize the DA projections?

I second the above poster

It appears that the answer is...
1. Absolutely nothing if combine accuracy is set to 50 or higher.
2. More masking/variability in drafting if combine accuracy is 40-49.
3. Significantly more masking/variability if accuracy is 39 or below.
But quite frankly, my guess is that if you've gone through a draft or two below 50 and have to ask for an explanation, you won't notice a huge difference.

The Solecismic site says that the change makes it "more difficult for experienced players to easily identify good players."

you've stated the bullet points, what i want to know is what is the strategy for drafting after you have removed the constraints with a setting of 39.
what it seems like you saying is 49-40 is just raising the difficulty (accuracy of the constraints)

39 is not recommended in SP because the AI absolutely sucks. There is no drafting strategy there. It's comically easy. FOOL is (as far as I know,) the first MP league to use 39 and just started the very first draft on Monday. There's simply no way that anyone outside of Ann Arbor knows the ideal drafting strategy at 39.

what setting do you recommend for Sp, the standard 50 and use the DA for the majority of your picks?

Depends on the person. It's way, way too easy for me at 50 with the Analyzer.

I wouldn't use Analyzer for SP. The tool was designed for MP.
And that "it is recommended" part about 39 isn't from me. It's from the Solecismic web site. I'd recommend that SP-only players stay away from Analyzer and constraints and all the other stuff meant for competitive MP leagues and just play the game. It'll be much more challenging in SP that way.

I use Analyzer for SP for the simple fact that the game fails to provide anything in the way of a customizable "draft big board" that every real franchise uses. Sure, you can mark players, but you can't assign them a draft grade or anything like that.
Even not using any of the analyzer's predictive capabilities and just sticking with the ability to remove players from your board, assign round grades and that sort of thing...its helpful and makes the draft process more enjoyable, and by extension, easier.
I may try a few drafts without the Draft Analyzer, but I fear it might be an exercise in tedium.

Haven't been in MP only played Sp.. using this new DA, i'm confused is the new "rating" stat the DA's predictability of the player achieving "very good etc.." status or is it the combine reports or both. I hear you on the DA being to easy for SP but i don't think I'm good enough at the game yet to call it easy... I still struggle with the DA.
