When to offer extensions to my UFA?

What stage of the game am I able to try to negotiate extensions with my players who will be UFA?

I can't seem to find out the time I am able to offer.

You can offer during the season until the Front Office Bowl has been played. You can also offer at many points during the offseason, once(i believe) the franchise stage has passed.

You can't extend a player who you previously signed during the season to a 1 year contract offer.
