Where do we set the kick and punt returner?

Has anyone had luck finding this? When I sim the games, I have a Kr/Pr but they automatically put in so I'm guessing we don't have control over that.

I haven't seen it anywhere. Sounds like the game is picking these now.

I found it suspicious that the screenshot (Santonio Holmes) in the .pdf about offense didn't include PR/KR abilities.

So the game picks the returners but it's still on us to designate the other 10 guys on the field? That's...odd.

I haven't seen it anywhere. Sounds like the game is picking these now.

I don't like it if that's the case. I don't want any of my starters returning kicks, unless I don't have much of a choice. I haven't dived into the game enough yet to know if that's happening though (starter has 95 in kick return, backup CB player has 91, so game picks my starter when I'd rather have my backup CB doing it).

I think that's gonna need to be addressed in a patch.

Um....can't you still designate who plays on special teams? Currently can't check now (cough...at work), but I know I was on the screen when playing. It is on the Player Card (a button you push) that takes you to the screen where you can right click and designate which players participate on special teams.

With that said, yeah, I don't know if the AI will still add them if there is someone injured on Special Teams so it would be nice to have that option back.

I really think this needs sorting. My primary conaideration on a PR is avoid fumbles. I can't imagine the AI factors that in.

Agreed, little concerned you can't choose these on the depth chart anymore...along with the other inability to choose depth for other players as well. Just would rather have full control of these things versus trusting the AI to determine whom I want for various positions and depth.

I noticed it, didn't bring it up because I thought it was intentional, along with not having kickoff specialists.

Maybe the AI picks the best bars at KR / PR / ST and put them into play? What if I don't want my stud WR to add more snaps playung ST? And leave him on the sideline??

You can select which players are available for special teams in the Player Attributes/Special Teams screen, which can be reached through the Roster screen and the corresponding button there. As mentioned in the instructions on that screen, you can right click players to make them (un)available for special teams.

I do agree with the concern Hammer mentioned: it's certainly possible that I could have a (slightly) higher rated KR or PR guy on roster, which I do like to see play on special teams but specifically prefer not as a returnman due to his history of fumbling. I've made that decision manually in MP (FOF7) as recently as this week.
