Customization???

Hey everyone,

Have never played FOF, can you customize it at all? I didn't read anything about customization but so many games now lets you customize various things I wanted to make sure that we can or cant with this game. Like customizing teams, or moving teams to different divisions, creating new teams, anything like that at all????

CAN

Rename teams, cities, etc. with cosmetic changes

Relocate a team in-game to a new city (only after your host city rejects a stadium proposal)

CANNOT

Edit players wholesale (change ratings, edit them completely to look like real NFL players or draftees, etc)

Change league structure (number of teams, divisions, etc)


There are some multiplayer leagues that have entirely fictional team locations and nicknames. Here's one that does a great job, to give you a flavor of stuff you can do with FOF. (http://www.thefofl.com/league/champs.php)

The game's strong suit is definitely the engine underneath. Some folks are frustrated that it's not really built to perfectly simulate the current (or even historic) NFL - importing real players is a notoriously variable exercise and frustrating to some. But there are some customization possibilities.

actually you can change player names.....

on the player card bottom right there is a button says "change name"

Thanks, touched that up to reflect what I intended. You can edit names and numbers, make limited position changes. But you cannot edit ratings, personality stuff, etc.

umm....you can do that too just not directly, at least for SP anyways you can go in and directly modify the csv files to give players any ratings you want....not sure about for MP maybe the commissioner can
