Ok,
In a multiplayer game sometimes not all of the teams have a GM. How do you conduct a trade with an AI controlled team?

The commish would have to execute the trade from the Trade Window in the menu, but trading with AI for an MP league can be a slippery slope unless there's a person, or group of people overseeing any trade proposals made.
I personally advise against AI trading in MP.

We currently have "SIX" teams without a GM and one of the teams have only one tackle. I have a tackle i would like to trade.

As Nemesis said you have to speak with your commish and see what are the rules about it, we can't help you anymore with this.

Bad, bad news if you start allowing trades with AI...

Thank you Mr. helper, but I was responding to the implication of an outright prohibiting trades altogether. may work with one or may be two, but once you get more than 3,4,5, plus teams without owners, it may do more harm than good.

Not exactly, most games you can mod AI behavior. It can be adjusted to a higher threshold to make trading with the AI difficult. However, this could lead to the AI rejecting trades that is more than beneficial. A simple solution is to allow the commissioners to adjust this value via personal preference.
This being said, once FOF8 has been out for a while,I think having three or more openings would be less common and this is a moot question.

I have been commissioner is a couple of leagues previously and never would have permitted AI trades. And I left a different league as a member because the commish allowed irregularities with AI trades. IMO, allowing trades with AI teams is a very bad idea.

Maybe I'm crazy but shouldn't the thread be about getting more players into the league?

You're right it makes sense to leave those spots to the AI and not fill them with players to trade with. So how is it going with the AI trading so far?

I have had this work once - in an office league with 6 human GMs who all knew each other really well. We were pretty good about being fair in deciding if we would make the trade if we were in the AI's shoes, and if anyone had a reasonable objection it didn't happen. There weren't many such trades, but it took having people who knew and trusted each other to make it work at all.
In a league of random people on the Internet? Good freakin' luck. Much better to try and fill those spots, and just otherwise leave them alone to do their thing and muck with human plans during FA.

I have an alternative theory:
I am new to multiplayer game I do not know/ understand how trading works. I watched a video on youtube that describe how to do it, but the game was not acting the same way it was in the game. The text at the bottom wasn't clear it if also included teams that did not have a human player. I thought i asked here since it is a general question and I can get my answer quicker. I had no idea I would be subject of solicited abuse for asking a simple question out of ignorance. Well, the joys of anonymity at its best!
In case you have trouble scrolling,... my OP

Where do I try to convince anyone of anything?
But what about Post #9. Well, I actually argued that the AI can be modded to be more difficult to make a trade in your favor, not that the Commissioner should allow trades. More over, I do not even know if the Commissioner int he league the team I am referring to would or would not allow it. So, I would hardly argue for or against it. I do not know the game well enough to even make that argument in the first place.
I feel so welcomed!

My advice PikeStance to a new player like yourself, is be a sponge. It is a tough game to pick up, only way is to be humble and listen to veteran players. Many of these guys have been playing for well over 10 years. 25 years of experience in posts 2, 5 and 7 are all telling you the same thing. At that point I think you can conclude you have your answer. Any further pushing of your point is just going to irritate people.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I asked one question and it was answered in the beginning. LOL, I didn't pushed any agenda. The only thing I stated was that the AI behavior can generally be modded to be less or more liberal/ strict. This based on my modding experience with other games.
As far as if the Commissioner should or should not allow trades with AI controlled teams, well, I couldn't care less about that right now. I only wanted my question answered in which it has already been answered.

Devil's advocate. I think someone has too much spare time... Go somewhere else to disrespect long term users who are here to help. I am OUT of this conversation. #Nonsense.

The AI behavior really has nothing to do with this at this point - the Commish is the only one that can make trades in MP, period. I have never actually tried to trade with an AI team as the Commish, but I am pretty sure there are no checks/balances in MP. If the Commish puts it through, it goes through. So it isn't up to the AI teams - it is up to the Commish and the rest of the league to determine what is "fair" - and that is where things get real murky.
