When I started playing FOF 7 a few years ago I came across the terms masking and masked pair quite a bit but I've never quite been able to piece together what they actually mean from context. I just searched the forum and I still don't follow exactly what it's supposed to mean when a player is referred to as masked, or what masked pairs are supposed to be when evaluating draft prospects. If someone could help clarify for me I'd appreciate it. Are masked pairs still a thing in FOF 8?

An old thread, but unmasking concepts are described here. The thread does reference summer camp which no longer is part of the game. And the significant rating changes occur now after pre-season game 2, not TC.
The consensus was that masked pairs no longer applied in FOF 7. I don't believe that "tell" as reappeared in FOF 8.

Masked pairs are no longer reliable. However static bars are still quite useful to Scout prospects in the Draft

Thanks for the responses, it was just a term I'd seen float around quite a bit a few years ago when I first got into FOF7 and it was always pretty clear it was an old concept. I thought it might be something that's still relevant to FOF 8 and the long time vets just don't talk about it anymore because its old news, and newer players wouldn't have even come across it lol
