That's cute. In the game of Front office Football 8, under the Chronicle/Players menu, there is a tab that says "leagues most athletic man". After clicking this tab there is some text at the top that says "Best Broad Jump and High Jump Scores". I know where the score for my players "Broad Jump" is.. I don't know (nor have I heard about in FoF) a "High Jump" score.
I really.. really hope you get it this time.

Could be that high jump is hidden (given that it's listed in at least two different places.) Could be that he added this screen and Help File entry earlier in development and scrapped high jump. Either way, there's no way anyone here can answer that question. Once again, you should be contacting support if you care about this sort of thing.

Ben, it's a question with a simple answer. it wasn't included in the game. I'm 100% not going to make writing the Dev daily a habit when there are forums of players playing for over a decade.
My simple question, this kids sarcastic response and your advise to write the developer of the game who just recently stated this game is taking a back door for him right now is not helping to sell copies. Of all people Ben, you should be encouraging people to ask question here, you are by the far the biggest and pretty much most respected player I've come across in this game. People look to you as if you are the Dev, you act like it at times and that's a good thing. Embrace it.

Ben, it's a question with a simple answer that no one other than the developer could possibly know.Fixed.

People look to you as if you are the Dev, you act like it at times and that's a good thing. Embrace it.Here's the thing: you seem to have difficulty discerning the difference between a question that the community can answer such as "What are some things I should look for in evaluating draftees?" or "What do you find to be more important, Courage or Big-Play Receiving?" or "When are good and bad times to use the Cap Out option?" or "Has anyone had success with running reverses?" from questions that can only be answered if someone knows how the game is coded under the hood. The former are questions that I encourage and embrace, and will happily answer. The latter are wastes of everyone's time.
1. "High jump" is listed at least twice but is unreported anywhere in the game. How can you, I, or anyone else know if it's a hidden combine or simply a mistake? We can't. The only viable way to get an answer to this? Ask Customer Support. You may eventually get a response.
2. On your continued badgering of the community for assistance on double teaming, you yourself posted the Help File entry that "your staff" determines who the best guy is for double teaming. Clearly it's a hidden in-game algorithm that's more complicated than any one (or possibly even two) ratings. Or it could be that there's a bug. Either way, by now it should be abundantly clear that without hundreds of examples from game logs cross-referenced with ratings and combines, we're not going to figure it out. There are only two viable options right now for dealing with it if you want to keep playing the game: a. don't worry about it, or, b. write Customer Support and *maybe* get a response. It appears that #1 isn't an option for you, which is why I suggested #2.
I don't know what else to tell you. Any answer you'll get to those questions apart from something coming out of Ann Arbor is going to be speculation, and you seem to want definitive knowledge.

I think the answer was much simpler than all that.
The high jump wasn't included in the game.

If it feels like I'm "badgering" people I'm not, I'm trying to get the best understanding as possible with as little official information available as possible. I agree it's probably not gonna be an exact science and a little bit random at times.
The lack of interest in this subject alone is concerning. Either everyone has been where I am now and came to the same conclusion, and then didn't bother to write about it on the forums. OR they just don't give a flip in general. I mean I guess, stone me for trying

The high jump wasn't included in the game.Actually, based on past behaviors, this one could go either way. Up until this version, all of the fluff of "league's most ____ man", forensics, etc. has been based off of hidden combine ratings. With this version he revealed most (all?) of the combines. However, it's quite plausible that he added another hidden one in the High Jump. Just a cursory glance at the listing tells me that there's more to it than Broad Jump. Could be a hidden combine. Could be he forgot to add it in all the busy-ness of getting the game released. What's certain, now that I actually looked at it, is that it's not just broad jump. So with that in mind, if I had to make a guess, I'd go with "hidden combine just like the past." But it's just that: a semi-educated guess.

OR they just don't give a flip in general. I mean I guess, stone me for tryingThis is probably where you're just new to the game and don't have the history. Those "league's most ____" things have always been mere fluff in the past. There's a decent chance that this is the first time I've even opened that screen to see who was on the list. I (and, I suspect, just about all other vets) didn't care about it because I didn't think it would help me improve my teams in any way. Looking at it now certainly seems to validate that assumption. The league where I'm looking (CCFL) has mostly mediocre 55/55 types at the top of the list. the #1 guy is a 54/54 WR with a whopping 4.45 ypt this year, 6.84 for his career. The #2 guy is a 53/53 CB who has put up 2 1/2 seasons of mediocrity. Yup, it's not worth the time to figure this out.

To be fair, your second post would've made a much better first post.
And I don't think Ben's being unreasonable here.

I think this got off track.. When I was talking about the lack of interest I was referring to the double teaming issue.
I am not now nor was I earlier, overly concerned about the "leagues most athletic man". I just noticed it mentioned a high jump and I hadn't seen anything about it. So I asked.
Garion, I actually thought the title plus the question about the high jump was enough for someone to know what I was talking about. I don't think Ben is being unreasonable. Because I've pressed the issue with double teaming, I assume Ben thought I would do the same with the high jump, understandable. I'm not concerned about it past the answer it just didn't make it in the game. I'm also not concerned about the league's most anything, again I just saw "high jump" and wanted to know what it was in the game.
With all these hidden things going on, would you rather new players not ask about it? It's like I started playing, and as I play I see things happen in the logs and on the roster.. in the draft etc that seems strange. So I ask,.. then people seem to be annoyed that you don't just fully understand "it's hidden" or basically, "it's a bunch of stuff not listed in the help file'. Do you want me/us to not care enough to notice and be interested enough to understand?

This "kid" is supposed to discern that you already know what a high jump is when your post contained a total of 9 words? You didn't articulate at all what you were asking.

You are right, at the time I didn't realize the puzzle it would become.
