View Full Version : Just bought the game, issues

Hello. I write from italy so forgive my bad english. I bought Fof8 and installed it with the last patch on my computer. The problem is that when i start the game and i try to, for example, open the personal page of a player, the window of tha tplayer overlaps and blends with the window of the roster, and with the element at the top of the normal game screen. And it's just making all unintelligible, i have to drag every window left and right to "clean" the blending. I have a monitor with 1920x1080 resolution, my pc specifics are normal i guess except for my operative system which is windows xp. Maybe it's because of windows xp that i'm experiencing such graphic issues ? My graphic card is a ATI RADEON HD 3800. Processor intel core 2 quad @2400 MHz. I have to switch to Windows 10 in order to play the game ? I'll gladly listen to all the advices you would like to give me. Thank in advance.

I'm not certain, but if you can use the "aero theme" with windows XP it might help fix this.

I do believe one of the people on this board still uses XP and has FOF 8, hopefully they will check in here with their experiences involving this kind of issue.

Anyway, i'm trying to find the aero glass theme for XP and see if that works.

I've tried the aero theme and so on, but never managed to make it work on Windows XP/7.Doesn't mean that other haven't done though, but I cannot help you here.

I'm running an Oracle virtual machine with Windows 10.

FYI: Technically, Windows XP is not supported by Solecismic for FOF8.

Actually this happens also in Windows 7, it is hit or miss. On one of my PC's it is not playable with this problem. No fix. The fix on the website may or may not work.

Actually suggestions, not a real fix.

"This problem is affecting some Windows 7 users, and we've been unable to determine exactly why. You may be able to resolve the problem by not using the Windows Classic theme and switching to a theme that uses Aero. Also, some people have resolved the issue by going through the Control Panel, Advanced System Settings, Performance, and checking all the boxes, including Use Visual Styles on Windows and Buttons, on the Adjust for Best Appearance screen."

Hit or miss if it works.
